    Focus RS at Gaydon today

Popped up to Gaydon today to take a look at the production Focus RS, it looked very similar to the prototype ones I have already seen, but had the correct headlights and the steering wheel on the correct side.

Andy Barrat was there to tell us all the things we already knew, had a nice lunch and got a nice key ring (Thanks Ford) and took some pictures of the prototype driving around the car park.

It was nice to hear it running and reminded my of a Cossie or RS Turbo with a slightly noiser pipe.

    Which was nice

Were those pics not taken today, or is having the steering wheel on the left the correct side?

The production car has the steering wheel on the correct side, the prototype car hasn't, and the pictures are of the prototype car.

I must admit that I'm not a great fan of the Focus BUT that does look nice!!

Anyone know what sort of BHP its going to have and a rough price??

The most trusted rumour is 215bhp and £19995 OTR but LOADS of torque

But its only a rumour still.

Fantastic looking car, the shape, styling and stance it has on the road just looks right. My moto is "if it looks right, then it is right".

Only problem is the price, its a bit high for the average RS owner / lover and no matter how much i like the look of the car i wouldn't stump up the best part of £20K for one

20K?!?!?!? The Escort Cosworth was only 27K and Ford expect you to pay 20K for an updated RST???

When the Escort Cossie was out, you could buy a house for 27K.

I think you'll find the Focus RS will be more than up to a Escort Cossie let along a RST, and that's if it only half as good as a FRP

Re: Focus RS at Gaydon today

The Focus is a nice looking motor, dont get me wrong but with a price tag like that how is it gonna sell? I mean if you look at other cars already on the market and coming soon (206 180,Clio sport 172 etc etc) These cars go for around 15-16k and offer the same sort of performance!! My main concern is if the RS Focus is 20k how much is the Focus Cosworth gonna be?? 35-45k??? By looking back fords RST was half the price of the Cosworth and I thought that the Cosworth was ment to be an affordable supercar!!!

The FRS does look a bit dear compared to the other cars on the market, I think the new Seat is going to win a few sales with it 210bhp engine. But the Type R needs 1K adding for Air-con and still looks like a wendy house and the Clio is mega bland, made out of plastic and looks like my Grans car

What new Seat?? I used to work for a Seat garage and I reckon that Seat is very underated, I mean did you ever see the Ibiza cupra R? 180 bhp big wheels brakes leathers air con blah blah.....17k
