In my exprience I have found those clocks were fitted to early Mexicos, Twin Cams and RS1600's, they were all the same up to the later 130mph speedo flat face clocks, which were then fitted to all AVO cars, the changeover date was about the same time as the RS2000 was introduced and the rear shocks became semi upright.
The early twin cams had a silver facia around the clocks though instead of black (or wood veneer).
I would normally bow to Marks superior MK1 knowledge but I am was sure the early twinks didnt have them, so lets get an answer where do we go ?

That is 100% correct...the 140mph/8k dished clocks were fitted to Mexico's and RS1600's up to about the end of 1972. The very early versions of these (also used on the twin-cam) came with a silver fascia, whereas the later ones had the more usual black fascia.
All RS cars from this point on were fitted with the flat faced 130mph clocks.
looks like we were all right lol

haven't got a pair of wings, but a friend has a secondhand drivers side (think thats the hardest to get) which needs a bit of work but isn't rusty, don't think he will want much for it, it's been in my loft for years.
Actually you know whose wing it is, it is Andy who had the wheels you looked at, one from his RS that he changed as he had a new pair.
Let me know if it is any use to you
