They used to bother me all the time. Untill it passed an MOT with it on. I thought it would fail but apparently you have to be able to read the plate from 69yards away. But it doesnt say if thats horizontal or vertical, if you had a big ladder you could easily read it. The next time i was pulled over i put it to the copper and he went to check it out and said if it was illegal he would have me straight away. That was 5 months ago and i havn't been pulled over since.

That's quite cool about the vertical/horizontal thing, I had often wondered how/if MK1's got away with it when they have them on their bonnets.. Nice looking car, too.
