How about I go tune it, get a third of the power again and we have another race hmmmm?
I'm in two minds whether to lower it or not, as it drives lovely now and i dont wanna firm it up to much and shake it to bits, but whats the crack?

              Cheers,

                Re: New motor

your better off asking on the fiesta forums on whats the best suspension solution to drop it a bit but still retain some comfort. i have fitted 40mm P.I. springs on my mondeo and am very surprised on how comfy the ride still is.

Eibach are supposed to be a good type for leaving a decent amount of comfort, but they cost twice as much as P.I. and other types!

I think spax springs are quite good, the ones i saw on a car were 40mm ones and they made it look better and i think the ride was good.

yo steve i would have thought a 1600 si festa would easily whoop a little 1.3 rice frier, have you had a race with ian yet, i think it would be a little one sided

                      Re: New motor

Ok so i have been in a fezzy which was -40mm now, and it still drove and felt nice, so i will be gettin it done as and when i can afford.
Not had an outright race off the line, more a side by side off a roundabout onto a dual carriageway shindig. At the risk of soundin like im makin excuses, i was only takin it to 5grand and we were even. Ive changed he oil & filter since, and added an induction kit so i can hear the engine.
PS: 'rice frier' haha, not heard that before! tee hee!!
                      Cheers,

A third of the power? Remember it's not Japanese!! You'll need to spend THOUSANDS (eating into your Cossie fund) to get an extra 30bhp...and I'll still have the excuse that I'm a 1.3 and you're a 1.6!
                        Neh!

<<yo steve i would have thought a 1600 si festa would easily whoop a little 1.3 rice frier, have you had a race with ian yet, i think it would be a little one sided>>

You'd think so, wouldn't you?...but this 'rice burner' has taken out bigger stuff than that before!!

<<At the risk of soundin like im makin excuses, i was only takin it to 5grand>>

No risk, you ARE making excuses!! Come over to mine and we'd better whip up a batch of fresh, steaming humble pie for one of us to savour at Pod!!!!!

Seriously though, I'm really looking forward to Pod. Talk about close racing. I'm running more bhp (slightly) but I think your torque is better than mine. One for the album, I think! Gonna get Mark 'The Fat Punt' down there with hopefully a de-cat added...and also the King of St. Georges RWD launches, the Big Man Mark.

Sorry for the thread hijack all.

SI fezzys look nice on S1 alloys and if you want to keep a comfy ride and go a little lower go for a g-max kit.
