Ive had seven 2.8i Capri's now over the years and some have run hot and others cold
My present one which ive had many years always used to run hot until i put a monster granada radiater in it last year and now i have no probs with temps.

Nice m8 same colour etc as the one i was tryin to flog on here a few weeks ago but yours is way cleaner wish id kept it really but never mind.

my 2.8i used to run hot, turned out some tight git had put a smaller 2.0 litre engine rad in it and the head gaskets had gone and clogged the rad etc. got the proper rad, re-did the heads and it still overheated but not as bad. so then i took the thermostat off (which was seized and one bolt had to be snapped off) and put a new one it, it still overheated.

so after that i run it with no thermostat, it run cold-ish but was better than running hot.

If you do get overheating troubles with a 2.8i this ( pics below ) is what you want to do. Take out your old rad and get a granada mk3 rad down the scrappys with twin fans and all hoses and then cut the old rad mounting points away and a bit of the battery tray so that your new granny rad can sit the whole width of the remaining engine bay
Just two holes to drill for the bottom of rad and two brackets to make up for the top and job done, sorted
Now the faster you go the cooler it gets




P.S, it only cost about £40 (ish) in total...

Looks class mate, I remember when you first did it some months back. Its not so easy to find a Mk3 granny about these days tho!
Your engine bay also makes me want to blast off all that Wax now!!

Nice 1 Dave Always had a capri in my collection since I learned to drive, you're lucky to get a 2.8 that runs cold, make sure the thermostat hasn't been taken out! Careful when you prod that corrosion because they do like to rust, this is my how my back arch ended up after i started prodding a couple of scabs

And get that engine bay cleaned they come up a treat! You must get a nice freeflow exhaust system they sound awesome
