    My old Porsche 928S

I got rid of this about 18 months ago.

1981 Porsche 928S Manual Sport pack.
It was lovely, but the fuel consumption was scary!

    Very nice!!

I always wondered how the lights on them things work cause they point up at the sky! Do they flip up like the ones that are hid under panels? (TR7/Ferrari style).

I've always liked the 928, but have been put off by the horry stories about running costs.

      Looks nice though.

Yeah the lights flip forward on it, similar to the TVR etc but the other way round.

They are actually really cheap to run if you maintain them yourself.
I used to do all my own servicing and repairs, the parts are very cheap from Euro Car Parts (German specialists) brake pads are about £15 for OE spec, filters are £2.50 for oil £10 for air etc.
The insurance was only £300 fully comp agreed valuation.
he only expensive bit was the fuel, 9mpg!! if you caned it around in the summer with the aircon on full, although it averaged over 35mpg on a motorway run.

Is the handbrake on the right of the driver, or is that part of the seat.

Yeah handbrake is on the right.
The gearbox was odd too it had a dogleg first.
The box was a pig to handle unless you were giving it some stick, then it was lovely, almost fell in to gear.

Mark, it was a bit slow though wasn't it, mind you it made excellent bow waves through puddles and the tyres were really cheap as well (remember Enfield pageant ).
