Pics I took on my honeymoon one night that we had a mini freak storm. It rained with thunder and lightning for an hour then it became hot again

Taken in good old Essex, many years ago.

This is a straight print, no Photoshop jiggery pokery, just a slight crop from the original negative. Oh and a big bucket of luck.

a chap where i used to work took a picture at an enfield fc match and by pure timing got a piccy of a lightning bolt hitting and killing a player i think if you looked hard enough its probably on the net somewhere it was a few years ago

Good pics

Something I've always wanted to capture but so far never managed
We were in Ibiza a few years back & had an electrical storm come over one night over the sea, & it was the one night where we hadn't taken the camera out with us

As I said im not saying the pics a fake but it would need some persuasion for me to actually believe it. Also of the 4 pics I took only 1 is good.

Well i believe davids pic knowing his photographic skills from his other pictures we have seen....i guess its so unreal looking it appears fake???

Tut tut !!.

Picture is real, as I said just a slight crop as it had too much sky.

Long exposure with camera on a tripod, about 20 or 30 seconds.

This is why the street lamp has a star shape to it due to the small aperture I had to use.

Then it's just hope a nice bolt of lightning strikes within the field of view.

The storm had been going on for quite a while and I could tell which direction the lightning was going in.
So I set up the camera and -- voilà
