Well we finished the event yesterday with 25th o/a and 1st in class. Considering the eventful ride it was it's a good result. SS1 - slight off, SS2 baulked for 2 miles!! SS3 windsreen misted up and had a spin,SS4 Puncture, SS5 oil leak which ignited on the exhaust causing a small fire!!
    Character building i call it!!

Well done Vince, I could see you guys on the 2nd loop of stage 4 I think, looked like you were going slow so that was probably the puncture. Didnt know you were on fire!
I went off on the first part of the beach road on stage 3 and lost 1 min 20 seconds.

Thanks Mike, beach road is a bugger at times. That robbed you of a higher class position then.

After all the problems we ended up 25th O/A and 1st in class. Its lacking bottom end grunt but once its on cam it pulls really strong. The other thing was it didn't seem to want to rev much past 8000rpm so may need to redo the cam timing .

                  Thanks for the pictures Lynden.

Not too bad, would have got 2nd in class rather than 3rd I think. Most people had issues of some sort I think

Well that was another failure. It appears we either suffered valve bounce and bent a valve or a valve spring retainer failure. What do you do , when you buy the correct stuff from reputable people and suffer failures no one else suffers. At least its not an expensive rebuild. We were leading class once again before this happened.
