Cheers Nick, as you can imagine i was pretty nervous as it was my first race on a circuit. I managed to qualify 16th from a grid of 23 so was pretty pleased with that.
The first race started well and and after a few laps i felt like i was starting to push a bit harder. Unfortunately, on lap 6, someone massively outbreaked themselves into the first hairpin and i was hit from behind, which spun me onto the grass. This left me with too much damage to continue so my race was over.
Fortunately we were able to repair the car enough to get out for the 2nd race and it was far less eventful! I managed to finish 13th which i was pretty happy with.
Apart from the obvious i had an excellent day and cant wait for Brands hatch on Nov 4.
Well done Neil great result for your first race ,i take it you have raced hotrods before ,i look forward to seeing you at Brands in November and just hope you lot are not out with us
Nice one Neil! Car looks great and well done for getting where you did.
Shame about the shunt but i guess it happens
Cheers Sam, at least it wasnt the escort that got bent!

Thanks, really looking forward to brands. Apparently they are expecting a large crowd and full grids so should be really good.
I raced hot rods with for a few years, but apart from a couple of sprints in the escort ive not done anything competitive for about 5 years.
Its the first meeting of the season next weekend at brands hatch so i thought would do a quick update. After a very wet brands in november i decided to strip the car over the winter. The idea was to properly repair the damage from rockingham, give it a respray and generally tidy everything up, hopefully losing a bit of weight along the way. The winter seemed to go very quickly once the car was in bits but i think ive managed to do most of what i wanted.
Looks great in the new colours! See you at brands, i will hopefully be there supporting a mates escort cosworth in the qmn if the niggles are all sorted by then!
Looks much better in the new colours, god luck with the racing this year
