1968 MK1 ESCORT:
Monza Blue, newly MSA log booked (2013), MOT/Tax.
Fully Seam Welded, Strengthened, Fire walled and Turreted, straight unarched shell. No rot. Body work very very good but not perfect. Mexico front wings, rolled rear arches
Compehensive Safety devices weld in cage with weld in “cross” door bars (gusseted), pick up points to front suspension cross bar tagged to dash, extra rear cross bars (gusseted) and pick ups to b pillars.
Polycarb. Side windows (x4).
English axles with anti-tramp and panhard rod – 4.9 Tran X LSD (checked/rebuilt professionally one event ago).
New Single piece HD Prop. (new/one event old)
5 Speed Tran X type 9 with 4AGE Bellhousing (new/one event old), long first gear.
Helix competition clutch (new/one event old).
Chassis mounted Toyota 1600, 20 Valve 4AGE injection engine on throttle bodies and VEMS ECU – Low mileage – great engine – Recent rolling road @ 160.1BHP, very drivable.Baffled and gated big wing sump made from brand new Toyota item (new/one event old).Plumbed in 4 pint Accusump oil accumulator. Oil cooler and hoses (new/one event old). Sump guard. Big triple core radiator (new/one event old). Fabricated manifold, competition exhaust system. (passed noise at last event no problem). Electronic Tacho in place of original. Capillary Oil pressure/ Oil Temperature and Eletric Water Temperature gauges (new/one event old).
Front: Bilstein coilovers with new 275lbs springs, roller bearing top mounts. Twincam double width anti roll bar, In Situ adjustable rose jointed TCA’s (new/one event old). Rear: Bilstein with Single leafs. All poly bushed.
Bias peddle box, Wilwood cylinders, Wilwood Superlite 4 pot Calipers with competition pads, 9 Inch rear drums with new internals. All lines inside car.
Ralloy fuel tank on stand with surge tank – low and high pressure fuel pumps. MSA dry break sampler, all Teflon braided pipes throughout (inside car (new/one event old).
Lifeline plumbed in and handheld extinguishers with working pull cables/cut offs (new/one event old).
In date sparco seats / 6 point belts. (one belt new)
Intercom system (terratrip clubman I think)
6 pot dash, alloy centre console with switches / fuses.
Nav’s footrest with horn and map light button.
Single wiper conversion (yes wipers that work).
4 x Super Oscar spot/fog lights and covers.
10 x Compomotive 7 x 13 wheels with a selection of wet dry and intermediate tyres – ready to go.
Could be made into Historic spec with a few small changes. Previous Crossflow chassis mounts still in situ.
My beloved car has only done 1 single venue - tarmac rally which we finished third in class (even with it being my first event RWD and with slicks on for 6 stages in the P’ing rain) think it says more about the car than the driver…
No problems with the car – I may do one more event before selling, depending on offers.
