Hi all, I have been plodding away, building my own rally car for a few months (gonna update that thread in a bit), I also had a spare shell, which I have now started on, here is the car from when I got her up to now.
DFP227Y, I bought her from a great chap called Richard who is only five mins from where I work. I had already bought a car from him previously, which donated more than a few parts to my other car, but when he called me and said he had something I might be interested in, I couldn't wait to go and have a look.
Upshot is, I bought that one too, and again, life was looking up as I had a yard full of Sunbeams again.
I then did a deal with the fellas at Prop-strip in Nottinham, to dip both shells for me, which they subsequently did, and I have vowed never to build another var with having the process done, it is fantastic.
Anyway, she sat quietly in the garage whilst I plodded on with my other car, but then, I had reached a point with the Vauxhall powered car where lots of cash needs spending, so my attention turned to the Lotus.
I am building the shell full historic spec, and when she is done, I will just mothball her for a while, and see what happens.
Anyway, here are some pics...................
When I collected her..........

The stripdown starts...............

Seam welding and strut tops strengthened..............

Some floor repairs...........

Pair of new jacking boxes...............

Inside all done.........

Alloy arches fitting...........

Rear bottom corner repaired.....

Small sill reapair..........

Bag o tubes.............

My favorite bit, cage fitting!.............
