Thought I would start a thread here as my car is now on the road. Car is a fairly simple Escort road rally car. It's a four door with 1600 crossflow, 5 speed box, bilsteins front and rear. English axle with tramp bars. Simple but proving enough fun for me at the moment. Will get some pictures up in the week. Here a link to the original thread in the projects section showing some of the work. http://www.turbosport.co.uk/showthre...29#post2042129
Having problems with the brakes at the minute. I run M16 fronts and sierra rear callipers, hydraulic h/brake and a bias peddle box. Since having the car the peddle has been crap but the brakes do need bleeding properly. The issues I have is that the rear wheels were getting very hot and sometimes you couldn't push the car by hand unless after driving it first.
Last weekend I used the handbrake a few times and after around the 5th time the brakes just completely locked on and I couldn't move the car. Had to wait around 15 minutes before I could drive it home.
A friend running the same rear callipers highlighted to me that should I should space the calliper out as at the moment the disc is not at all central in the calliper which makes sense to do, after looking yesterday I noticed my pads are right up against my disc (on the rear) like they haven't retracted at all.
Anyone, experienced similar issues, any advice appreciated.
