i "think" i have a std head on the shelf if theres anything of use on it ? tho as i recall they are pretty basic as heads go

Not sure what events yet. Probably a couple at Caerwent, Pembrey and Talbenny and I want to finally do my first Epynt this year.

As always depends on time and money though!!

That's really kind of you, thanks a lot. Might take you up on that if I can't get the proper matching part from Kent. Not sure if I could use one standard and the rest Kent bits. They don't seem to list it as a seperate part though and a cam kit from them is about £350. Seems a bit excessive for one small part.

Will phone them tomorrow and see what's what.

Thanks, that's a good idea. I've got his number somewhere from previous nova days. He has built some of the quickest novas about.

Cool, they all are good events from what I hear. Might do an Epynt this year myself, just depends on time and money as you say. It aint a cheap hobby

I'm doing the Scottish and North of England tarmac championships all being well

Have you tried Alan @ Protec or ian @ Eurorally for parts ? They both seem to be big on novas/vauxhalls.

hopefully catch up at some point somewhere

The diagnosis is not good!! On closer inspection the head is cracked quite badly. No way I did that driving at 65 miles an hour on the M4 so must have been broke when bought.

Hi,

Yes, hopefully when it's fixed i'll be doing a couple of events at caerwent, pembrey, talbenny and maybe even an epynt but that will probably be next year.

As always everything comes down to money though so only time will tell

Hopefully will see you out somewhere

Ok, head sent to South Wales Piston Services to have new valve guide and valve fitted (was very shocked and happy when the bill was only £50!!). Then Mark from Ellisport came to my house and rebuilt it but only after I went to every motor factors in the area trying to get an inlet manifold gasket which in the nick of time.

Not driving it again until I get a limiter fitted so it doesn't happen again!!

Forgot about the little jobs,

Move seat back as previous owner must have been an Ewok!
Fit rev limiter.
Get tracking done
Balance carbs
Buy some wheels and tyres

Punish it!!

glad its sorted, i thought it was more serious from the earlier post. if its a BB head you wont want to loose it !
