Superb looking car and some great photos there! Hope to see you out on an event......we should have similar power to weight ratios.

    Did you build it yourself?

Thankyou Sir, yep, did it all myself, cage the lot.

I have been toying with selling the big Six and going for a high spec S14 (E30 M3 engine), but a pukka 2.5 with serious power is crackers money (£10k+) and you have effectively a race engine that will require frequent rebuilds. The S50 lump however, has a mild tune (Group N head gasket, some cams, Carbon airbox and a Chipwizards re-map) and kicks out about 370bhp (325 @ wheels).

The concerns I have is the S50 is massively heavy and the old girl doesn't turn in just as good as it should.

Do you know I have never had the chance to get it on the scales yet, need to cos the corner weights need checking and setting up.

An educated guess would say about 1150kgs.

Forgot to mention I have aluminium doors and have been fairly meticulous with weight saving.

some reckon they can get one down to a tonne, I can't see it myself.

                    Very nice

Looks like you have had to bespoke manufacture most of the parts......having built several Nova's an escort, manta and sunbeam, where you can buy most stuff 'ready to fit' we soon found out with the Darrian that it is a TOTALLY different job when you have to fabricate every single part before you can fit it.

The car looks something to be proud of, look forward to doing some of the same events as you.

That is a stunning bit of kit mate Dont see many of these out on the stages, seen an E30 M3 over Epynt once that looked the business. Hope to this on some stages round my way soon.
