Well after I gained my rally licence and sold my Escort Mk1 rolling shell, on wednesday I bought my new little Escort MK1 Rally Car
Neil Roper Developments prepared 1600 crossflow (130bhp) 711M block, big valve flowed head, 236 rally cam, brand new twin 40 DCOE’s, Mexico winged and baffled sump, Peter Lloyd modified exhaust system. New Engine has only done 1 full season. Sierra Type 9 gearbox, with Quaife 5 speed close ratio straight cut gear kit. Rose jointed quick shift gear lever and alloy bell housing. Helix cerametallic paddle clutch. 5-linked English axle, slipper springs, Bilstien shocks, Sierra Cosworth disc brake conversion with hydraulic fly-off handbrake and cable backup, 4.9:1 Quaife plated LSD. World cup cross member, Ford AVO anti roll bar with increased negative camber and castor, 2.1 quick rack on solid alloy mounts. Group 1 front Bilstien struts on roller top mounts, brand new 3-litre Capri EBC vented discs, brand new RS2000 calipers and EBC green stuff pads, works type full alloy sump guard. Omex 3D mappable ignition system. New hi torque starter and alternator. Hand made bespoke high capacity radiator. Dual facet fuel pumps. Bespoke wiring loom with easy access maintenance areas, brake bias pedal box, Full AFFF FIA approved remote plumbed in fire extinguisher system. In-boot, shaped fuel tank. Peltor intercom system. Sides and rear perspex windows. Works replica twin pod dash. Willans 5 point 3 inch safety harnesses & 2 x Cobra Imola 2 bucket seats. 6 Minilite alloy’s. Some spares too.
This car won the Heart of England class B championships in 2004 and 2005 and came second in class in the Millers Oils Welsh forest championship in 2006.

This car drives so well, sounds so awesome and I am totally happy with the car. It just needs a little welding underneath for the MOT just mainly from forest rally rash, new seats and harnesses as the old ones are out of date for competing. All those stickers will be removed with new sponsors and will be putting in a heated front windscreen but I will take some updated pictures of my progress
