    TUTORIAL - Changing Wheels

Right tried to keep this simple

First, open up the picture you want to put the wheels on.

Next open up the picture of wheels you need to nick . Use the elliptical marquee tool to select a wheel, if you have trouble using that you can also use the lassoo tool, either magnetic or polygonal .
Copy the wheel using EDIT, Copy. or CTRL + C.

Select the image you are adding the wheels to, and select Paste. Ta daa you now should have a wheel on your picture.

if it is the wrong way around once pasted, use Edit, Transform, flip horizontal.
Then use Edit, transform and Scale to resize it.

Move to where you want and job done

Repeat with the rear wheel and you have cracked it

Once again Adam you're a star

Question for you, the tutorial is based on a side view of a car, what happens if the car is at an angle?

just cut them out the same and use the transform options to rotate and change angles of the wheels.

Take a look at the pic, does it look ok?

I took the wheel from the red cossie above just to try it out,
am i right in thinking that the wheel that you copy/paste has to be facing you like the ones above, i tryed with a wheel from a car pic that was at an angle, but got all confused cos the wheel looked like it was facing the wrong way

          Re: TUTORIAL - Changing Wheels

you can basically cut one from any angle and by using the Skew Distort & Perspective, you can change the look of the wheel.

I think thats what you asked

Adam, see the pics below, can you take the wheel from the 5 series and put it onto the mustang? because of the angle the pics are so different i wasnt sure if it can be done?

the mustang pic is nice and easy to work on cos of its size, thats why ive been using that one

                    Looks spot on that m8.

Just use Image, Adjustments, Hue / Saturation to change the colour when wheel is selected

                        Re: TUTORIAL - Changing Wheels

angled photos don't work so well with deep dish wheels, or wheels that have a lot of shadow on them. Notice that the two examples both the front and back wheels are the same wheel off the other photo, the back wheel off the beemer was to angled to be of any use. Think about this when chossing the wheel you want too use. Skew etc can only do so much.

you can see on the pics below, I've tried to squint the front wheel a little but the pic still looks a little wrong. Original for this was borrowed from PF so sorry if it's your motor...

Adam is that the same way you go about changing the colour of cars? by using the adjustments like hue/saturation and replace colour?
