I know the colours are not correct but you can get the idea, and it needs tidying up

Will Holmans Capri, been seen in Practical Classics loads of times as he was the editor of it, but now he and Kevin leaper are running Practical Performance Car. And he is thinking of arching and painting his capri once the 6 link rear is done, Think he may have been spending too much time down here.

Took about one and a half hours.
What I did was to split the different coloured sections onto different layers and apply filters to each layer individually to get the colour changes. Usually a mix of hue/saturation and colour balance.

Step 1 was to seperate the paintwork from the bits of the car I didn't want to colour. I do this simply by using the eraser and going round the edges.

After I aplied a filter I got the body work the right colour. But the bonnet was still wrong.

I did the same removing method for the bonnet and any other bit the same colour. I got this colour by modifying the original bonnet colour not the blue from the last filter, I find this usually works better.


There always some touching up required to finish.


Then I move this colour changed capri over to a new drawing where I apply the lines and orange on seperate layers. The orange sections of the car were done the same way as the bonnet, cut out and re-coloured.


The final result.
