    Money no object

So, you've just had 6 numbers come up on the lottery, theres 10 million sitting in the bank and the partner has just said....
"ok, you can have the fun car you want "

So do you buy or build...?

    Rules are simple,

Try and post a pic if you can if its a standard car/ previously built car.

if its your dream car... then give a full discription..

I would love to build an F3L ... its got to be the sexiest sportscar of all time, and one of the biggest flops. Entered a handfull of races and didnt finish one, got one pole position though

    Re: Money no object

as i always say, for my everyday car id have an Aston Martin DB4 GT Zegato

and then loads of project cars:
take my dads 1924 Vauxhall and put a supercharged lorry engine in it (i dont know why but it seems like a good idea in my head)
rebuild the escort, in JPS colours (satin black and gold) because i had a scarlectrix car which was ace... with a proper turbod BDG

and a silly powered skyline with a lada estate body chopped ontop for the ultimate sleeper, which would eat any other car on the road alive but still have crappy hubcaps on
and then some sort of twin bike pivoting strapped together contraption which again probably will only ever work in my head, and even there im not sure it would even work but id try to build it anyway

It would have to be Nissan GTR , Really trick Escort Mk2 with all the best bits and for the hell of it, a McLaren F1 road car.

If I had 10 million , I might even buy the misses a second hand micra (old shape) or something like that !.

i would probably build either a mk2 identical to gmacs old mk2 flatfront RS or build something rediculous such as an austin allegro with a cossie engine in the back along with 480bhp, how brilliant would that be screaming past supercars in a poo brown allegro on steelies

    Re: Money no object

I think i'd have my mk1 escort sorted, decent engine, wheels n that for the road.
another mk1 escort for track abuse,
a mk2 escort for abit of drifting.
    a darrian t90 rally spec
    sierra cosworth
maybe a impreza (older one not new one) to hack about in
a mini cooper for the girlfriend

and if theres enough money left over i'd see if i could get a big plot of land in the middle of nowhere and build a nice race, rallycross circuit for weekend fun. Similar size to lydden. Then i can hold private trackdays for all you guys & girls.

    Re: Money no object

Ah, I can talk about it on this version of the thread

Stunning, and worth a kings ransom now!

The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is an extremely rare road car built by Alfa Romeo. Only 18 are reported to have been made, plus three design studies based on the 33 Stradale the 33.2, Iguana and Carabo.

The Stradale, first built in 1967, was based on the Autodelta Alfa Romeo T33 racing car. The car, made its debut at the 1967 Turin Motorshow.

Built in an attempt by Alfa to make some of its racing technology available to the public, it was the most expensive automobile for sale to the public in 1968 at US$17,000 (when the average cost of a new car in 1968 was $2,822).

The Stradale is believed to be the first production vehicle to feature dihedral dores, also known as butterfly doors. The Stradale also features windows which seamlessly curve upward into the 'roof' of the vehicle.
The race-bred engine bore no relation to the mass-produced units in Alfa's more mainstream vehicles. Race engineer Carlo Chiti designed an oversquare (78 mm bore x 52,2 mm stroke) dry-sump lubricated 1,995 cc V8 that featured SPICA fuel injection, four ignition coils and 16 spark plugs. The engine used four chain-driven camshafts to operate the valve train and had a rev-limit of 10000 rpm. The engine produced 230 bhp (172 kW) at 8800 rpm in road trim and 270 bhp in race trim.

In another break from convention, Alfa used a six-speed transaxle gearbox by Valerio Colotti.

The car takes 5.5 seconds to reach 60 mph (96.56 km/h) from a standing start and has top speed of 260 km/h (160 mph).
