Full monty skylines run 7 sec quarters anyway the same as that so-called 10 foot long street bike you had the nerve to post up . I've got a bike as well , my mates have got bikes , your the one who's blinkered mate . A proper skyline will piss all over an rc30 race replica round any track in the world so all your facts are bullshit not mine !!!! Bikers think cars can't beat them off the lights but it can happen , so check your mirrors incase !!!!
gaz you arent listening to what EVERYONE on this thread is saying, your comparing a completly bog standard 10 grand superbike against a 50k car thats had AT LEAST another 50k spent on it on getting it to beat a bike

your talking at least 25 grand to get 800bhp from a skyline (and if you dont believe me look at top secrets website), then you need a gearbox capable of handling that, then diffs, suspension, brakes, light weight items to shed some of the lardy weight etc etc

if i was beaten of the lights by a skyline on a superbike id still be laughing my arse off inside my helmet as ive saved myself over 100k, but on the road that will never ever happen cos 1000+bhp skylines arent exactly ten a penny in the uk

again another post by you with NO FACTS at all, ive backed all my posts up with facts, power to weight ratios, lap times round the ring, drag strip times on a modded street bike etc etc

and look at how easily the 250bhp turbo'ed busa left an 800+bhp supra eating dust

and the only thing i check my mirrors for at traffic lights is the police

money no object, yes the car will probably be faster, but i live in the real world where money is an issue

    Re: skyline v bike

well if price doesnt matter gaz then why are you driving a mk1 escort and not a fire belching 1200bhp hayabusa eating skyline?

because you live in the real world (although some may say thats debatable ) like the rest of us thats why, hence why the bike will always win over the skyline when looking at it £ for £

post up some facts then maybe you will get taken seriously

and you still havent explained how the ten of the best 4 winning 1000bhp skyline is over 2 seconds slower than a modified busa up the strip

A modified busa won't run faster than a skyline unless it's 10 foot long and then it ain't a street bike is it ? You best get out more often and go and watch some bikes down the drag strip and see for yourself mate . The skyline still beat the bike in the video , the fact that the bike's worth a tenner doen't come into it does it ? IT STILL LOST !!!!!!!

World's Fastest Street Bike - Over 200 MPH in 1/4 Mile - Congradulations to Barry Henson and Velocity Racing on the first ever street bike to run 200mph - in a 1/4 mile - with no wheelie bars. In the picture above is Barry Henson on his Falicon-Equipped GSXR-1300 Hayabusa Turbo - over 530 hp at the rear wheel. At the AMA/Prostar Pingel Thunder Nationals ( Indianapolis, IN) on Aug 21st-22nd 2004, Barry set new ET and speed records - 7.29 at over 200 MPH. The next week at MIROCK, Barry ran a 205 MPH quarter mile. Barry has smashed the 200 MPH barrier consistantly on his Hayabusa
if its not a street bike then how did it win the "official" title of worlds fastest streetbike? its still a hayabusa, still a busa frame, front end, brakes, engine, its just a more tuned and modified version, exactly like the modified skidlinespercy: you keep yapping on about

    Re: skyline v bike

just cos it has a longer swingarm than usual its not a street bike????

theres a guy on my estate with a jag V12 engined trike that is probably less parctical than that and yet he uses it on the street, sorry, cant see a 800bhp skyline being a perfect street car, but it COULD still be a street cars same as a longer than stock bike can be a street bike, have you not seen some of the extreme chopper bikes that are street driven?? in fact have you ever been outside at all?

    Re: skyline v bike

Just a few notes from a neutral bike / car lover:

Andy Barnes (owner of Sumo Power) has spent about £250,000 on their Skyline, and the best time it has run so far to date is 9.64 secs @ 144 mph...

The WORLDS FASTEST SKYLINE is HKS Japan's own car (1400BHP Nissan Skyline R33 GTR) It did a 7.671 @ 181.98 mph. (God only knows how much that thing has cost them!)

A few other random of the worlds best Skylines:

4WD Pro-GTR drag records (on slicks):

Class ,Owner, Country, Vehicle Type, ET ,Trap ,Speed, Induction
    1st HKS Japan Nissan Skyline R33 GTR 7.671 181.98 mph HKS GT3540R (x2)
    2nd Avance Japan Nissan Skyline R32 GTR 8.119 171 mph MHI TD06-25G (x2)
    3rd www.exvitermini.com Australia Nissan Skyline R33 GTR 8.273 167.76 mph VeilSide GT-3542 (x2)
    4th Target Japan Nissan Skyline R32 GTR 8.331 169 mph HKS GT-3037S (x2)
    5th Garage Saurus Japan Nissan Skyline R32 GTR 8.355 n/a HKS GT-3040 (x2)
    6th A'PEXi Japan Nissan Skyline R33 GTR 8.357 n/a IHI RX6B-TCW77LS (x2)
    7th VeilSide Japan Nissan Skyline R32 GTR 8.450 168 mph VeilSide GT3540 (x2)
    8th Tomei Japan Nissan Skyline R34 GTR 8.503 n/a IHI RX6B-TCW77LS (x2)
    9th Bee Racing Japan Nissan Skyline R33 GTR 8.602 n/a HKS GT2835R (x2)
    10th RS Feast Japan Nissan Skyline R33 GTR 8.667 n/a HKS GT3240 (x2)

So the WORLDS FASTEST SKYLINE did 7.671 @ 181.98 mph...

But Barry Henson's Velocity Racing Falicon-Equipped GSXR-1300 Hayabusa Turbo - over 530 hp at the rear wheel ran 7.29 at over 200 MPH. The next week at MIROCK, Barry ran a 205 MPH quarter mile. Barry has smashed the 200 MPH barrier consistantly on his Hayabusa... (Fairly sure thats not the worlds fastest Busa either?

    Just to recap:

    WORLDS FASTEST Skyline: 7.671 @ 181.98 mph (1400bhp)
Hayabusa turbo: 7.29 at over 200 MPH (530bhp)

Seems the bike IS quicker after all!

    Rob.
