Well heres my Mk2. Ive owned it since Feb '96. It was a bog standard road car when i brought it in Walthamstow, used it for 6 months then the oil pump siezed and that was the end of that engine. After that the car was looking a bit sorry for itself, rear arches were starting to rust away and it needed a general tidy up.
I got it into my mate Jasons garage and it all went a bit silly from there, after seeing his mk2 sitting there all caged and 5 linked up,i couldnt resist doing the same to mine.
This is when i went and brought an everyday car to use and decided the mk2 was no longer going to be a four seater,it was going to become a stripped out two seater with 6 point harnesses and bucket seats.
The resto took just over 2 years, because of funds etc it took a while to finish. It came out with a 170bhp pinto, that was soon changed for a 190bhp pinto. Then got bored of that and ended up with a good second hand 2.2 HT Racing pinto that come up for grabs with twin 50's 215bhp
That was in there for about 2 years.
Then the bug really hit me and i finally gave into moving on and going Cossie turbo power. Im a carb man through and through, but you just cant beat the rush you get from the power of a turbo'd car, they just dont ever loose their sheer grin and fun factor.
My car's not a race car as such, more of an all around type car so to speak. Been heavily into drag racing over the years and only recently got into doing track days. The old school track day at brunters last year was my first ever track day. Which i really enjoyed.
My second track day was brands hatch in september this year. Another top event. Im slowly building my confidence up around the track.
What i really need to do is try and save up for another set of wheels and some treaded slicks, then i can go for it more around the bends and have some sort of grip
Anyway enough of me waffling on,heres some pics for you.
