Did some work on the car yesterday, the 'lug' had sheared off the lowering block that locates the top of it to the axle & the steel lug bolt that goes through the leaf springs (holding them together) had sheared off too so the leafs were 'spreading' & nothing was holding the lowering block in place top or bottom. All this on the drivers side.
When I was driving it I could feel the axle movement under throttle & lift off.
Fixed it all now & bought new nuts for the U shackes too. Havent road tested it yet.
Had the starter motor off again, inner bolts that hold the face plate to the body were loose again but this time one had sheared off! Had to strip it to get the snapped bolt off and fit a new one. Used Loctite retainer on them this time
Needs new inner throttle cables again, I normally get 2 events out of them before they start to fray. Brake pads are good for 1 more rally.
Fitted new dizzy, cap, rotor arm & ht leads.
The old dizzy bearings were so bad that the rotor arm cut a deep groove in the cap!
Bought a load of A7FS plugs form here, cheapest I've found them anywhere.
Car needs a new nearside sill, havent got the time at the moment so actually considering paying someone to do it.
Time to sort out my TCA's, I've had some adjustable ones from PLR but the ball joints are shot (again!). I've bought some similar to the Gartrac ones that have 'rose joints' and replaceable pins can be changed when damaged etc. They came from a guy in West Wales & and generally look more heavy duty than the PLR ones.
Hi, I've been looking to do this for a while & I just was browsing through the forums & came across this, can I have the contact info for this guy? If he is still in operation if not do you have the dimensions for the bearing? I would have to source it myself.

The chap who made them is Jeff Skitt who has a machine shop in Aberporth. He’s at events like Rally Day & I think he’s on Facebook too. Look for ‘Jeff Skitt engineering’.
He makes lots of top quality escort suspension parts
