I often think a re-shell is best, and normally works out cheaper when the rules limit the mods to the shells.

well..... not posted in a while since my incident at the glen. I managed to find a new shell and get the car reshelled. Obviously also took the opportunity to also add a whole new suspension and solid mounts all round.

I had my first race since the crash and the car performed well first time out. Managed the pole and lap record at NJMSP but made a mistake in the first race (actually someone spun infront of me forcing me into the weeds) so I finished 4 in race 1 and 2nd in the next 2 races.

My plan is to improve the car over the winter. so far plan is

convert to cup car spec, so
added new data acquisition dash
weld in a new roof with sunroof delete
manual rack
strip interior
new halo hans seat
new custom cage
respray exterior - new graphics scheme (Mobil 1 color car)
replace bottom end bearings
fiberglass hood and bumpers
lightweight battery
LSD rebuild
etc etc etc

I will keep you informed

guess it will look worse before better. It goes in for a new cage tomorrow then a respray!

some updates, many of parts have now been sprayed and considering this is my first time spraying I am VERY happy with the finish. Car is off at my cage builders and whilst the main hoop X needs finishing as does the triangluation from the front legs to the bulkhead and all gussets you can see its taking shape. Should be a pretty solid cag when finished!

Some lovely work there, cage looks great. Certainly makes life easier with the roof section removed

Thanks Dave, I am actually taking the roof skin off and replacing with a sunrood delete skin so now opening at all when I get the car back

Love this car. I use a 2.7Lux as a daily dirver, but your Turbo is a different kettle of fish. I've often thought mine would make a great track car.

What are the suspension mods?

yeah, the car is fantastic on the track, so well balanced it is almost easy to drive

suspension is, Fabcar geometary adjusting control arms, weltmiester sway bars, with Leda 24 position adjustable dampers with 800 and 900lbs springs (rear torsion bar delete), camber plates with racers edge solid mounts all around

managed to sand, prime and lay some color and clear. Needs wet sanding (a lot) but I am pretty pleased with the outcome!
