    Porsche 951

Ok I know it is not a Ford but thought you may fancy something a little bit different. This is my track car that I bought at the start of the year whick I am slowly getting how I want. It had a new engiune put in at the start of the year with MAhle pistone 100.5+mm, new correllio rods etc. Its had modifications to the oil pan with extra baffles added as well as the obligitory chip and exhaust. Suspension wise it has adjustable coilovers all round with 600lbs F and 500lbs rear spring, and thicker front and rear sway bars. I am also just about to change the Drelyn bushes for solid bushings.

Interior has been stripped and added shells, plumbed fire extinguisher and battery kill switch. I tend to run it on dot R compounds (RA1's) but also run Housier slick as well depending on mood and funds. To be honest the car balance is great and it keeps up with most things outside GT3 cup cars

As I am new to the US I am currently doing as many track days as possible to familiarise myself but am aiming to do my first race in September a PCA event and a couple of SCCA events in Oct.

Will keep you updated on progress as well as pending modifications........................more power because boost is adictive

Hi Dave, I moved from Philippines to New York about a year ago. (nice memory) I live in Westchester which is 22 miles outside Manhatten in the sticks. Nearest track to me is Lime Rock Prk (1.2 hours away) but have others as well. I am actually going to Pocono tomorrow which is a NASCAR track so should be fun

The setup over hear is superb. Went to Pocono International raceway today and did the full infield corse in the morning and and the 2/3 bowl in the afternoon. First time there so I was lucky enough to have the chief Race instructor with me the whole day. Had dinner provided and 100 minutes on track time. Whole day including instructor cost 100 pounds and the quality of instruction is superb.

No matter who you think you are, they make you have a check out ride and pout you in the appropriate group. I went out with a several 996 GT3 cup cars and boy are they quick.

Will let you know what the racing is like later this year but I expect it to be the same high level!!!!!

Lovely car. sorry to see the damage but I'm sure you'll have it fixed. Does it really need a reshell due to damage or is it so you can also build it differently this time?

Keep the updates coming, makes for an interesting read

the shell is pretty twisted, the rook is even kinked. I have been told that I could jig it but to be honest it will be more than a reshell. I have already found a new tub and this time I am building the car to turbo cup spec so will do things a little differently but still within class rules.

should be back on the track inside the month
