My battery is inside the car on the floor in the rear passenger footwell by the near side rear wheel.
Ok Ride Height. On a mini the ride height is measured from the ground to the flange on the sill. At the front I run mine at 180mm, that is from the ground to the sill flange or lip. The problem with running low is the front damper tend to close up on bump. So you have to raise the top damper mount. You can buy these, but you will be able to make some or modify your existing ones. At the rear I run 200mm from the ground to the sill flange. The back needs to be 20 to 25mm higher than the front. Dont run to low on the road because the sump can get very low to the ground. I would recommend 210mm at the front and 235mm at the rear. If you remove the rear valance a few holes in the rear subframe bar will be OK, but don't go mad and Graham is right you could weaken it. If you need any info about your mini I will be pleased to help.
alright thanks ken, thats brill, ill have a measure of mine later, although i really need some wheels before i can do anything about lowering it
yeah i reckon my rear valence will be coming off then and just a couple of swaged holes in the subframe, by swaging them i probably wont take any strength away i wont be taking people in the back anyway
RE battery.... alright cool, think i might just leave mine where it is and repair the boot floor, cos if i put a fibreglass one in then i gotta try and find a new home of the battery
thanks ken and graham ,i really appreciate you help

I was not at the Brands DMN last weekend because Gerald and I went to Spa Francorchamp to race in the BCT. There was 68 car in the race comprising of Minis, NSUs and Fiat Arbaths. What a fantastic circuit a lot of it was flat out in top, Eau Rouge definately gets full attention. I had a puncture in the OSF tyre in qualifing after two laps and had a ride back on a lorry. Gerald won both races, I was third overall in the first race and a second overall in the last race. Lap times 3 minutes 04. Lydden is going to seem very short at 47 secs.
yeah good stuff ken... your minis will rule the world
yeah any more pics please
