Re: Mk2 escort mexico road rally car

I ts about £1400 from RED. but its a nice bit of kit, didnt know Pace did a sump pan.

Yes i had to modify the auto tunnel had to open it up around the bulkhead in order to have enough room to get at bellhousing bolts. then had to have the tunnel as high as the indented piece on the bulkhead.

I had to re-make most of the tunnel around the box when it was in, using something similar to a ZF design with a removable piece...

I know a few boys using various different types. like Emerald. DTA Omex etc, the key is to have one that is also programmed for the Vtec, as you need to bring it down to about 3k to increase the torque. I am using a Racetech loom and ECU. its a personal choice at the end of the day.

Hi yes John Beattie at RED, does a complete loom and ECU,
what you do is send him the engine wiring loom from the s2000, then they take out all the unwanted parts and customise it with the ECU. I think its about £1200...

Now that I've finally figured how to upload photos off my iPhone I thought I'd update my thread. The car is nearly finished now and ready to compete on some road rallies. I'd like to say thanks to a few of the lads on here who I have bought various bits off. Here's some pics of the changes I've done while changing the engine

That is a very nice Escort, and it should go really well aswell. what ECU do you go with?
And looks like you kept the standard injection as well, what is it like a 6000rpm?
CheeRs, and keep the updates coming

I would of liked to put throttle bodies on but with road rally rules you have to keep the standard injection. I'm using a loom and ecu from R.E.D. I havnt had a proper spin in it yet as I need to finish a few small jobs.I'm just glad that it's running for now.

i got taken out in a standard civic rally car that had been remapped on emerald ecu i think which changed the vtec settings and it was stupedly quick powering the wrong wheels though
