For most events in Ireland you can hire the HANS devices......something to bear in mind as this would reduce your costs !!

If you fancy any events in Ireland then dont be afraid to ask......we moved to Ireland in 2007 & one of the big reasons was the motorsport & in particualr, the rallying !!

Thanks Dave, if things go to plan I hope to be doing the National Tarmac Championship next year, which will mean a trip over to Dublin for the ALMC Stages

dyn-car-gwyn, I have to confess that the Welsh Dragon on my helmet was on it when I bought it (a secondhand bargain), and is no longer on it. Born in Leeds and grew up in Manchester I'm afraid

Well, our trip over to the Isle of Man didn't quite go to plan.

The alternator failed driving to scrutineering, but with the start of the event being the following evening, I was confident we could get it all sorted. However, the replacement alternator turned out to be the wrong one, after it took hours to get the pulley off ours. A mad hour dashing around came to nought, when the only alternator we could find was found to be completely dead. We had to pull out minutes before the rally. We still had a great trip, and did some marshalling on the Sarturday, running a start control for 3 of the stages.

It's a ridiculous reason to non-start. We now have 2 working alternators, and I don't ever intend to go to a rally without such a basic spare part!!

Anyway, keen to get straight back into it, we've entered the Oak Leaf Stages at Swynnerton this Sunday, so hopefully I will have some better news next week (and also some in-car footage).
