i'm gonna buy you a spell checker , bad news about the day though mate, but by the sound of it, when she does run, shes easily got the power to win, just a shame its abit unreliable, it might be an idea to get a guard for your fan belt, if your getting water and oil on your belt i reckon your gonna find that quite a common problem, and with regards to your flat spot problems, it sounds like an accelerator pump jet problem or your ignition advance needs tweeking abit, do you have a throttle position sensor? and i'll pm you over the number for track and road

no tps just esc, some 1 else at the track suggested a pump jet issue, am finking about a 3ltr carb on it aswell, i have no doubt she can win just teething problems with an engine sum people aint even seen b4, i also gota get a 3.6 diff 4 it, thanks 4 the pm,

personally i'd leave it be, even then thats not really the best place to port, on the manifold itself, look down the main hole in which the carb bolts to, as it splits into the 4 ports, the top edges are very square and sharp, rounding these off would be your best bet but it can be a royal pain in the coont, as access is tight and can leave a horrible step if not done carefully, took me a good couple of hours till i was happy with mine. read up on this thread mate http://www.turbosport.co.uk/showthre...ng+choke+flaps , i know its quite a few pages long but its real worth while and extremely interesting, i modded my 32/36 and ported my inlet manifold, and i'm nearly on 130 horsepower on my latest engine with a pretty much standard camshaft (caravan cam fr30), plus i get brilliant fuel economy too

I should have gone to Specsavers, I never saw your thread here!
Thats awesome mate!! Why did you take the Zetec out? A lot more power from the RS2000 motor?
I love your racing stories too, are any of the races on youtube? Get a camera in-car mate, that would be ace!
                  Great stuff mate

Re: my 2 ltr hotrod, swaffham spec.

iya fella., when i first built it was a 1.6 zetec with the injection 43 racing on dirt but the 4th piston parted company from the rest of the engine, i then had a 2.1 pinto on injection but the bumps used 2 mash the the inlet so then it went 2 a 1.6 pinto with 2ltr pistons and a single forty and a 2ltr injection cam tbh my fave engine i had in, then had a standard 2ltr pinto bottom end with a stage 2 head and fr33 cam with cbr 900 bike carbs on raced that engine 4 almost a year on dirt,
i was then getting tired of panel bashing and haveng 2 chisel mud of the car so descided 2 go tarmac with it so instead of building another car i boxed the arches 4 inches on the back and angle the front wings out 2 take the 8 inch rear wheels and slammed it 2 the deck with standard fiesta legs with sierra springs allround, raced the first ever tarmac race with the pinto on bike carbs done a goodish meeting other then bein well under geared then snapped the cam belt whilst testing a nother diff,. the damage 2 the pinto was far 2 costly so i had the rs lump holding me bench up in me garage so fort stuff it other then silly teething problems its a wicked engine so torquey and pulls so well even with a 1.3 fiesta ignition pack it times very well,
due 2 the rules of our sport the use of a 16v engine permits the use of twin carbs or bike carbs so 4 now she using a 32/36 and sounds sweet as a nut breathing trow an addapted rs2k fwd 4 branch poking behind the back of the front passenger wheel, (warm sticky out side slick) s/s silencer under sideskirt now all heat wrapped in nice blue tape.,

I have a set to put on my xflow, 36mm things off a ZX10. I thought they'd be better than the standard twin choke. Do you think they are worth the bother?
