Re: From Rallycross car to GT4 Racing Escort RWD "G3"
Hi there Arieke.
The left foot have no other place to go since the cage is in the way,
Here are some pictures from the last two races, the first ones from Sweden.
Here we managed two 4th places and a 2nd place in the last final. The track was tricky and i used long time to understand it. It was extremely hot in Sweden we mesured 32 C in the shadow and 42 C in the car after the race, it was some car that cougth fire and some that destroyed their engines due to the heat. We had to go down to 1,4 bars tyre presure becouse of the temperatures, we mesured 80 C on the tyres after the race, some cars had 125 C on the tyres and had problems whit the grip on the final laps.
Ready four leaving
Rune preping tyres for the last final
A gift from the mechanikans
Line up
We where happy whit 2nd place
And the last race now 9-10 August.
Dident went so greate, had problems during the whole race week whit som rear brakes that did n go of. even if i adjusted the pedal box. Finished 6th in the first final and got pole position in final 2.
I had a talk to Kjetil Bolneset, who did give me some driving tips tru the sjikanes before sekond finale. Did get a great start, and was first for the next five laps But i the car slided and i lost speed and the rest of the field was close. I started to get tired in the arms and the brakes did nt go of at the rears, so i lost a lot of speed. It ended in 4th place.

Last final, i started nr 2. But i got some trubles in the start and after 6 laps the car dident want to go as fast as it used to, so i only tok it easy and fished 9th. The rim had god damaged and the door i coud not be open, both the wings and shirt had been damaged. And the rear brakes was on agen, so they are going in the trash now! some picks fron last final

Did nead help to get of the track after the last final due to problems, but finished the race so i got some points .

Re: From Rallycross car to GT4 Racing Escort RWD "G3"
Personaly, i think its just a hasle having it, since its hard to get it on and of the trolly, and i cant get the jack under there in the depot.
But compared to last time i drove the car on this track i got bether times now and it feels like it have more grip on the front wheels.
But it can always be done bether, this is the first time i ever made one, so will try it out on Rudskogen track to se there to before i decide what to do next? Do you have any sugestions?
Re: From Rallycross car to GT4 Racing Escort RWD "G3"
I see, interesting points you raised there. As for suggestions, I'm not really sure!ha the reason I asked about it is because my civic race car is a bit unstable at high speed and trying to come up with a solution. The only thing I would say about your splitter, apparently the further it goes back under the front, the better it works but I don't know how true that is either?
Re: From Rallycross car to GT4 Racing Escort RWD "G3"
The first thing noticed, whit the splitter, is that i dont pick up som much stones an tire ruber from the track. (les tourbulance under the car??)
The idea is to push more air over the car, and not ounder, since the air under the car wil make some lift to the car an make it unstable and slower, depending on how flat the car is ounder. I did lock at some Youtube videos befor i made mine since i had no clue
Re: From Rallycross car to GT4 Racing Escort RWD "G3"
Thanks for that info! I must mock up one for my car and see what it does. And by the way, I meant to say, love the car, it's a credit to you and your hard work.
Re: From Rallycross car to GT4 Racing Escort RWD "G3"
Hi there
The last race of the season have now been conducted.
There was some problems in the begining of the race, whit a sick car and driver, but in the last race it al went fine. We finished 4th after starting further back due to problems earlyer this weekend. The car and driver was in god shape and we managed to set second best time in GT4 in this last race, beating former Norwegian campion and this years campion, and also improving my old record by over one second. So it was a fine season ending
Some pictures of the prep done befor this race.
Had to fix the damage after the last race, the a pilar had moved 5 cm innvards, so it had to be cut, pulled and re welded.
coming back togeter
Decided to make some changes and try it out in the last race, made som opening in the vings to get out air, and prevent it to go ounder.
Locking like this when finished
And then it was time for some brakes change, since the old ones didnt want to go racing any more.
Making of dumy brakets for the rear calipers.
Dummy and the finished braket.
Locking like this when finished whit new calipers in alu from 300zx/skyline orginaly suposed to use on 290x18mm or 310x18mm disk from nissan, but cosworth 4x4 273x20mm did also work wel and whit subaru sti pads from ferodo uno. Did work wery god!
Up front i had problems whit the wilwood calipers bending and flexing, making the brake pedal swampy, so i changed to some stiffer from Alcon for racing.
Also changed to Alcon pumps. the former pumps was from Ap so the problem whit the swampy pedal was not the old pumps, but was changed to be sure the new set up was 100%
The car then went to corner wigthing and a new set up in the front and new angles on the 4 link. The car performs much diferent after chancing the angles on the 4 link. Before when accelerating the car was unstabe over 200 km/h since the the car sat down on the rear axle, but now the car is flat all the time, and all of the energi the engines make goes to power the car forward, i also hawe more grip on the rears, since it pushes the axle down rater than the car down on the axel. It was also easyer to drive more agresiv, since it was not like a "boat".
Some race picks:
Race modus
Film from 2nd final, The B+ to the alternator melted and started welding in the engine bay, and the car did nt like that..
Film from 3. final (Safetycar from 5min to 10min in the film)
Locking forward to next year, som changes to the car during the winther and its sudently a new season.

Hi there Rene. I am satisfied whith the engine for now, it puls strongly an smoth on the top. But if i gone change something it wil be swaping the webers to trotle bodyes, so it doesnt "drown" in 2nd gear turns. otherwise it seams to be a strong engine but maybe a bit heavy compared to zetec s and Duratec engines.
