    Re: Sunbeam Tarmac Rally Car

I wanted to get the cage as snug as possible to the shell and I am quite please with the results. Not bad for a 1st attempt.

I made the plates for the bottom of the legs and fitted them to the platforms then tacked the legs to them. I will take the cage out to fully weld them later.

Another good day in the garage. The cage is coming together nicely although trying to cut angles on pipes is a challenge. The door bar connectors work well for the cross bar that I tied into the transmission tunnel. Looks like it will be another week before I can do anymore cos work summons....

                  Re: Sunbeam Tarmac Rally Car

Thanks guy's. yes pleased with the way it's coming out but time is hard to come by at the moment... I have set myself the target of doing an event at the end of next year. The thing is with this is, it seems to be going on and on and on etc etc...... But the good news is, with all the prep work being at this stage, when its finally in paint the build should be reasonably quick. Just like everything the quality of the end product is all down to the prep. Thanks for the support, it does help....

                      Re: Sunbeam Tarmac Rally Car

Keep it coming mate, I read the whole thing again as its given me some good idea's for my sunbeam. mine is still a long way away and a new garage build is sucking all my money, but the car will be right next to my house then so hopefully some more time will be spent on it.

                        Re: Sunbeam Tarmac Rally Car

Just found this thread from when I first started my build. Things have moved on a lot but unfortunately I am unable to say it's finnishe. I continued the build on using face book to let people follow the progress.. if you would like to find it just search for "Talbot Sunbeam Rally car" and you'll see a picture of the car as standard.

                        Pictures to big to attach
