I see you have the same sierra engine mount brackets as me, do you use vibra technics alloy mounts, mine seem pretty good Some people just use solid mounts instead but I'm not sure yet if I like that idea, at least mine have a bit of rubber in them to take out the vibrations

I'd defanately vote against solid mounts. The vibrations will increase and the whole powertrain suffer from it. Plus the noice in the cabin will be unpleasant.

What is the benefit from the solid engine mounts?

I know some use them too but mainly in short session sprint cars. The track race cars I've known all had trouble with the solid mounts. Vibration is so bad you cant even use a incar camera. Cant make anything out of the picture quality.

      Re: Racing sierra cosworth

I've seen solid mounts on RS500 racecars before, but then again a turbo engine is likely to be a bit smoother and lower revving than an N/A engine like mine.

        Re: Racing sierra cosworth

I think solid engine mounts is not a good idea.
I have seen then in a road going saphire with about 550 bhp and the result was a bent crossmember and in an other case a three door racing in hillclimbs had broken engine block.

Jeff i really dont know because i want to fix everything that was wrong in the red and orange period of the car.And this takes time....

Thats what i have done with the engine mounts the left was broken, the rubber was cut in half, maybe from the crash, but now they are much stronger. And a photo of the trial fit of the external wastegate.
