Moving body up/down moves roll center.

Lowering rear gives more bite in straight line, less steer.

U bloke probably have a std style pad rod so that raises roll center...............so probably why u gotta lower body.

However, this arse down WILL make car under steer @ front.

Not if you brake hard enough so the weight transfers to the front which gives better turn in

          Agreed too..

          The old saying ...

"do all your braking in straight line"

Is for people with novice crosses.. as their experiance grows and the skills improve they will use the brakes to balance the car in the early part of a turn, giving the front bite and loosening the rear.

Which is not the most enjoyable job!!

Well, its a choice between painting it with 'Wunderseal' and then a colour matched blue gloss over the top, or painting it white! (white paint is £22.00 a litre) from attached site

Which i've seen a lot of rally Escorts done in, but which are normally white under the bonnet, in boot and cockpit..
                  see attached.

Stockists of a wide range of motorsport parts and accessories specialising in Ford Escorts & Rear Wheel Drives.

The obviousl benefit with white would be making it a lot brighter under the car for working on etc..

                  Still trying to decide though!

                  Any suggestions welcomed..

I've managed to strip most of the underneath now, and I'm trying some of the Hydrate80 to treat the rust, but I'm not sure it will do much for the offside front corner!

I'm a bit stuck with that bit!

I' ve competed a few times with you in sprints at Deben and North Weald with a white Peugeot 205 GTi . Your car was always well turned out and you certainly went well..... keep up the good work!

I also used to sprint with you in a Black and Pink 1600 Mk4 Escort RWD then i had an Alfa 75 that we triple drove lol.

Did the London Irish sprint at Lydden last year thought you might have been down there was great value 100 quid for 2 days and on the Saturday we got about 12 runs was brilliant!! I did that in the current Escort.

Go for White underneath the Works Ralliart cars were painted completely white first then the red for the outside made working underneath nicer!!

May see you this year at Debden.

I remember the Mk4 escort, a nicely presented car.

It was a shame that I missed the london irish sprint, I missed a lot last year, and the way things are going, it will probably be the same this year!

I've decided to go for the top coat colour underneath, I found a brushable synthetic paint to almost match it.

All the best to you for this year

I decided to take the front wings off, as it was too difficult to strip the paint on the inner wings with them on!

I was hoping not to do too much damage, and make them bolt on all round, but they are a bit past it, so I'll probably replace them, which also means trying to match the paint..

I also have the problem that there isnt really anything to attach the wing to at the bottom rear!
