My Mk2 Escort Sprint Car (A Vessel for frustration relief)
Re: My Mk2 Escort Sprint Car (A Vessel for frustration relief)
I was gonna go for the tranx! but you dont get a mainshaft with their kit!
and quaife do the longest 1st gear!
and i think its probably to late to cancel the order now!
I just wanted to share this picture of my mk2 that was taken at a SantaPodsprint many moons ago, it was taken just before the long drive home.. after a hard days sprinting!
It was a really good day, and the thrill of thrashing the car up n down the strip was pretty exciting, which i think could have been due to those big metal barriers a few feet away from the car!!

Yeah that was a great day. Awesome sprint course cos as you say we had to drive flat out as close to the barrier as possible and then go from flat in top, to 1st gear for the hairpins at each end.
On my last run I had a little moment, I was flat in 5th when the throttle jammed full open, left skid marks for 400 yards and just missed the barriers by inches. Did hit the biggest cone I've ever seen though
Have to dig out some more of our old sprint pics
