have you got a brace that goes from strut brace to brake servo? does it make much difference?

the one on my fiesta flexes all over the place.

The servo brace works very well - there isn't much flex at all.

The handbrake is nowhere near the gearchange - must be the angle of the photo. I was wary of that!

Deceptive. How do you know that the hydraulic handbrake doesn't produce excessive pressure, now you've lengthened the lever? Careful you dont blow the rear cylinders out. I'd be inclined to limit the travel of the lever. Time will tell I suppose. I can see it being yanked enthusiastically, and the rears locking on.

Are you going to do some 12 Cars in it, before the next event. Always good for a shakedown.

Trouble with doing 12 cars is that the car is all stickered up and that gets frowned on - should really be cars to road rally regs in the lanes, whatever the competition. I'd like to though.

We finally got a finish in the Ka at the weekend - 9th in class too out of 13 starters, so not too bad! I've put a full rally report here:

Here are a few pics too...

We're displaying the car with the Red Arrows at British Aerospace factory open day if anyone here has tickets!

Well lots has happened between my last post and now (see www.teamwoodspeed.com if interested), but the latest chapter in the story is that the car is now sold!!

So, looking for a decent Pug 106 Cup Car or other well prepared FWD 1400/1600 rally car if anyone knows of something that might be of interest!

i have 4 206 super cup cars which are far superior to a 106, propper weld in cage, 6 speed BE box with lsd etc. They are full spec cup cars but with a std 1600 16v engine. They have had use at rally school but been well maintained and complete with all corrcet pug sport bits. These cars were built by peugeot sport UK at a cost of 25k per car. If you are interested i may sell one.
They are 02 registered but have never been logbooked, however they hav efull plumbed in extingushers, alloy gaurds etc

Jonnie it's tempting, but the fact that they haven't been log booked before this year means they'll need new up to date seats, film on windows, rear mudflaps and a dry coupling fuel sample valve fitted, among other little things that are stipulated for a new log book now. They are jobs that I don't want to do, plus the standard 1600 engine wont do the business so I'd have to factor in some extra power. We're literally after a car which is competitive and ready to rally.

I've just looked on your website Jonnie - are the stats for the 206 correct? 160bhp and 0-60 in 6.4 secs?

the stats are correct for a 206 cup car yes. Fair enough i was only stating i had the cars and they are propper little machines, a competitive fwd 1600 car which is works built or pro built is not going to be under 15k. Clubman built stuff is usually horrendoes and built with mixmatch of parts and not to a propper or specific spec. Your best bet is an up and running 206 cup car which will be about 12k for a good one which is reday to rally or a super 1600 puma etc which will be about 25k and cost you mega bucks to run. I know this info because i have run both for a season and they are the very best fwd cars out there
