Re: my 2 ltr hotrod, swaffham spec.
i'll give you a score for the carb
thing with chopping the floor though, its thin metal the floor so not particularly heavy plus your'll probably put all that weight back on strengthening the shell back up, and if anything, it will do it good some more weight on the back wheels, give you abit more grip
thats my tuppence worth anyway, and dont get an atlas if your worried about weight, they're chuffing heavy
english axles though coz they're from an escort seem abit dear to me, try looking for something like a reliant robin axle or bedford rascal axle, i would think they would be much cheaper, but even then there is some independent rear suspension much cheaper than live rear axles now days.
i fancy a steak with egg and chips now

ere and there just a bitta extra bracing 2 the floor, rose jointed the steering rack, rasing the tunnel so the g/box dosent touch no more and buzz enuff 4 your ears 2 bleed, keeping the sierra axle awaiting 3.6 diff 2 go in, a complete rewire, all 5 wires off, new fuel lines (ow much!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and relocate the battery, slap a bitta blue gloss over ( blue coz of the mighty chelsea
.

so not a complete loss but ive had 2 spend another !8 quid on a 36 mm socket just 2 cut and extend 3 inches,
