Have to say that in that group shot of all the 5's they all look fuggin 'orrible for me...... except yours
Yours has a classic look, especially lowered on those wheels, where the others just look like the plastic fantastic brigade.
Whats the spec of it? Better still start a new thread on it if there isn't one popcorn:
Sierra cosworth turbo race car
QMN saloon car championship
RETRO Motorsport
My renault 5 gordini 1400cc pushrod turbo has 195 bhp and 182 ibls feet on 15 psi of boost . It has GT turbo pistons and liners , standard cam and head , crank , rods etc , hybrid T3 turbo , straight through 1 box exhaust , GT turbo group A carb , alloy M.G. montego intercooler , GT turbo ignition module and a few other bits and bobs but nothing too radical or expensive . the wheels are the standard turbo ones that come on the cars originally . The cool low ride height is achieved by twisting the front and rear torsion bars as the car has no springs
got to agree with mr.white, yours and the silver one in the back look proper!!
i rekon a thread is needed on it.... lets see it gaz
they all look wank, they look like something noddy would drive pmsl
here's some pics of the 1.4 litre pushrod tiddler
i thought you had a mid engined one anyway?
Here's some proper wheels that where on it , 10x15 gotti split rims , commonly know as the dogs bollox !!!!!!
were did you get tyres for them and what size did u have on there?
here's the engine , sits in the middle where the back set normally goes . Group B cars , don't you just love em
they are michelin wet intermediate racing tyres . I used to get them from "ears motorsport" and they're cheap . I can't remember the size as they come in all funny numbers but the seller will know what size you need . They're not stricty road legal though as not "E" marked but i never got pulled with them and it passed the mot's with them on as the tread is moulded and not hand cut . They really look the part as they don't look like baloons . You have to watch it though on red hot summer days at high speed on the motorway for long bursts as you can overheat the tyre and cause it to de-lamminate . I think Kumho tyres do wide road legal tyres in a 15 incher .
Been to church again to ask forgiveness for your sins???
thats group b 5 is absolutely bad boy!

From the looks of the empty carpark you were talking to yourself again, either that or they ran away scared of your old fashioned blasphomy
they where all inside polishing and dancing around the 16v pinto that was on the alter !!!!!
What do you think of my new rocker cover war paint ? After much head scratching i quite like the silver and black design on it . Also the flywheels now back on after the long wait at the machine shop being redrilled and dowelled to take a pinto type clutch . I need to go upto Burtons on saturday for a few bits and if i've got 5 mins the following weekend the engine goes in .
Another engine pic to use up , it looks better in the flesh as the flash on the camera makes it look rusty and manky !!!!!! . I need some decent front brakes that fit inside a 13 inch wheel , if anyones selling anything let me know as my standard 2.8 capri ones need upgrading ..........

looks nice Gaz
Looks like a zetec now with the rocker cover silver Can't wait to see it done

Nice one Gaz Not long to go now!
Looks nice Gaz,at least give the engine a nice coat of paint in mid blue smoothrite or something like that.
And cant that pulley come off the camshaft pulley now?
Will smooth hammerite flake of the engine block or be ok then Kev ? I'm going to run the alternator off the inlet cam pulley as it's already built like it and it looks a bit different to all the others i've seen . I'm going to try and get it all running over xmas hopefully but there will still be lots of shitty jobs to do on the car . The front brakes need uprating , the steering rack needs changing , the gauges don't work in the dash except the fuel one , the immobiliser system is draining the battery all the time , the mot's run out and i need to sprinkle holy water over my english axle and say a prayer to the gods to help it last for more than 10 mins !!!!!!! .
Ibe been using smoothrite on my engines for years, all except my cossie lump, cos that gets painted for me
I think Joe uses a differant paint on his engines though, not sure what but i can find out as that still looks the same as the day he done it over 3 years ago.
The biggest brakes you can get in a 13" wheel is 285mm,which is what Darren Moss has on his mk2. They are not cheap though with calipers costing £500 a piece new Cos they are off a Formula 3 racing car and are made by AP. The other alternative is high specs 280mm kit, thats about £650ish plus the dreaded vat. But everyone knows how long he takes to build a kit . AOr you can go for a 260mm wilwood kit from rally design.
The axle should be ok,look at tango, that took some abuse
I need some brakes like darrans really , but the 280 mm hi-spec ones might have to do instead . I could risk it without them for a bit as it's only a street car and i don't go over a 100 mph in it that often unless it's clear and i've got half a mile to stop !!!!!!! .
Looking good gaz cant wait to hear it going did you sort a clutch out for it and did you get the cosworth markings machined off
Hello Jezz , i'm getting a Pinto sprint cover plate and a cerametalic paddle centre from Burtons on saturday . The rocker cover had all the cosworth etc logos machined off and the oil filler hole welded up for the dry-sump system by the last owner . I like it plain , i could pretend it's a 1600 toyota engine instead to wind up the saxo boys after i've kicked they're arses down the mad mile .........
looks sweet as fook m8,gonna sound the bollox i reckon
I can hear the echo's round brunters already
I'm really only doing it for the noise Pig , it should bark well at 8500+ rpm down the high street !!!!!!! Brunters should be good Matt , if i can afford the petrol to get there !!!!!!

You could always borrow my trailor
I've just upset the Mrs and got some rusty bits of exhaust pipe out in the lounge ( unfinished building site with a sofa !!!!! ) and bolted them to the engine to check it all clears the engine mounts etc . A bit close but it misses , it may melt the engine mounting rubber every other week but so be it as i'm not buying a new one . Here's some pics of it , i don't know which make it is as i bought it secondhand from Jezz ( Toymex ) and it was already fitted to his atmo cossie engine . It looks pretty old but it will do for now , i'll try and tart up the engine a bit before it goes in the car but i'm not no concours queen so i won't go too mad on it because it will get rotten dirty after 5 mins anyway .
Looks good mate Is Jezz the Jezz thornton from years ago with the yellow mk2 (big Johns old car)
Nice coffee table.
