Next job on the list is the front spoiler/ splitter as the last one had literally bit the dust. As you can see they have made a lower splitter from thin marine ply. This slides into a bracket under the crossmember so that it can be fitted from the front of the car without having to do anything under it. Clever stuff.
The splitter is nearly done and will be sealed and painted once the spoiler that joins it to the front panel is done. This will be a vertical alloy panel the wraps around the front panel to the front of the arches (similar to the zakspeed cars) and it will all be removed from the car as one piece with dzus fasteners and or bonnet pins, much the same as the Gp2 spoiler Gary fitted on my mk2.

I know it looks like it sticks out a foot but heres the proof that it is within the rules

The vertical part will look a bit like the castrol mk1s but without being as wide as the arches. Just need a big sheet of ally now..

Note also the new tow strap that fits perfectly through the bumper iron hole.

Right time to dust this thread off as the Pipes have been rather busy lately working on the old escort.

After Steve had got the front of the car (doors forward) in bare metal the car went to Ray for a bit of paint.
The whole engine bay, front wings and front panel were repainted and now look better than ever. The arches are also off being painted now.
The engine bay is pretty much all fitted out now waiting for the engine and today we refitted the freshly painted suspension.
