Re: A race bmw 316, 240bhp Atmo M10
in actual fact im considering a change of tact, whist still waiting for my new crank to turn up im having thoughts about trying to find an s14 head for it, it will move me up a class, but it is occurring to me that currently my cars miles heavier than the fwd opposition and i cant out horsepower them either.
the problem with going s14 is its very expensive to build a really powerfull engine plus such an engine wont work with my std roadgoing gearbox, but if i built a 2.6 s14 with a pretty std topend i could still get decent power and it would work with my gearbox and the weight of the car wouldnt be such an issue

Sorted!

but if what your saying is that you have the potential to get another 100 horsepower out of it plus your saving the weight as this head will be alley agaist your cast head (correct?) then it doesn't sound like a question to me, sooner or later you know something will have to be done to either save more weight or get more power out of it so it will be a very worth while investment in my eyes.
