They are from Gartrac and they are the Boreham spec ones, top quality and fit very well.

I do have a set of X-Sport Kevlar ones for sale if you are after some, they have the return lip so you don't see the rivets

    Cheers guys!
Think il go ahead with the boreham arches and grp4 spoiler!
My quarters are really straight so hopefully shouldnt be a problem fitting!

Clint did you use counter sunk rivets? If so where did you get them as i couldnt find them on Gartrac?

And did you use the ready made inner tubs from Gartrac for the rear? If so which ones did you go for buddy?

    Cheers

I am not 100% sure PIG probably on their web site though, I brought them in kit form so I could lower the strut body in the knuckle:

Re: Meet the 'Orange Thing' - More Pics Added

For the leg on its own £249 +vat
    Bilstein 300/70 insert £78.40 +vat for short, £80.25 +vat for long.
    Gaitor £6.50 +vat
    Strut top nut £0.40 +vat
    top cap £15.41 +vat
    lower spring seat £21.28 +vat
    lock ring £5.44 +vat
    bush £5.60 +vat
    seal £2.29 +vat
    cap £3.04 +vat
    rose jointed mount £41.58 +vat
    std alloy mount £36.17 +vat
rose joint top nut £4.95 +vat

So all in with rose joint you're looking at £504.95 per side inc vat

Std mount £499.82 per side inc vat, both for the long series strut/inserts. shorts are about a fiver cheaper.

I think the bodies might be already bushed and sealed, so maybe knock about a tenner off each side
So a grand all told, for the front struts, and that's minus steering arms I might at

Re: Meet the 'Orange Thing' - More Pics Added

A small update, I have actually spent a few days on various bits and bobs since the last update but have little to show for it.

Anyway made some brake brackets for my AP Racing Formula 3 calipers and 280mm disks:

I also dummy built my bottom end, Straight forward build, I purchased a very low milage engine from DarrenM and have used the block, crank from this along with a very nice set of heavy rods I had set by, unfortunately the guy who has ground the crank has ground it to Pinto size and not Cosworth tolerances so will need to rectify this with a journal polish, otherwise its all looking very good so I can strip it back down and get the final machining work done.

Spent this Morning at Shauns fitting the cage, I really like the contrast between the orange the dark silver and black, I have now a good idea of what I want the finished car to look like.

Then we tried the 13x10 Compromotive ML's and Avon tyres on the rear to check they fitted under the arches, look at the dish I think they are just pure yum... Cant wait to try them on the front now

oh yes it will need to be lowered some what....

Nice to hear the setup at HT's worked a treat, there are not many people left who can setup a set of carbs like HT can, and until recently you would be hard pushed to get him to do it, but now with the Rolling road up and running its a lot easier for him to do the task.

yep still getting use to it, bit of a leap from an 80bhp 1300 it spits back through the carbs like a bitch on light throttle doing 30, which is a bit irritating in traffic, but its just an excuse to leave a gap and then floor it

if it wasnt so far away id be down HTs being nosey every weekend

Dont forget your spindles are bent, and the slow running mech was a bit old and dirty, you really need to either have them carbs properly serviced or find a nice clean set of webbers or and megasquirt

yea i think steve summed it up very well by asking me if they'd been stored in a bucket of sea water unfortunatly the electrics need sorting, then then the bodywork, so in about 2 years i'll get round to fixing them... thats if i havent had to sell the car in the meantime

    Car is looking great Clint

You got a set of rollers to use at HT now? does that mean the end of your traditional live mapping exploits on the hill?

Yep HT have a set of rollers to compliment the dyno, but I personally believe the best way to set and engine up is dyno then to the hill, the RR is great for jetting and problem solving though.
