Thanks, I'll bear that in mind. Nice GSXR throttle body kit is what I'd really like next!

My email is matthew.curzon@sjpp.co.uk re brakes

Nice car Matt, looks great on the compomotives ! I've always had a soft spot for the 106's.

Have you seen the Colin Satchell GSXR conversion?

Sounds like your enjoying the 106, I've just bought a cup car so I can get back rallying as work keeps holding me back from finishing the Mk2!

Do you find it tries to oversteer a little on throttle lift off? Been told this a trait but not driven mine in anger yet!

Thanks Luke, I'll have a good read of that.

Hi Paul, yeah, that's the way I hope to go with it when time and cash allow!

Hi, I haven't used it enough to know yet. I've only done a few miles in it really. Hopefully will learn a bit more about it at next rally on February 9th. Good luck with yours

Its a lovely trait with them but due to the ZF diff they pull out of just about any slide!! I had mine at some silly angles and provided your brave and keep your foot in she will come back!!

                    Re: Peugeot 106 Cup Car

Just under a week to go now and the seeded entry list has been published. I am seeded at car 48 out of 60. Arwel is at 45 in his 205 and I think we're all expecting a wet and slippy day with loads of standing water!
The car is ready to go and will hopefully behave itself better than last time!
I also have a new co driver and am looking forward to a good day's sport, there are 8 cars in my class so a good chance to measure ourselves against the competition.
                    Event report to follow!
                    Matt

                              Re: Peugeot 106 Cup Car

Rali Cwm Gwendraeth took place yesterday and it was a difficult/disastrous day that started off with me getting my road car completely stuck in the mud (to be saved after the rally by a nice man with a Land Rover and a winch!!).
Stage 1 - Started well and was much more aggressive than I normally am, too aggressive as it turned out as I had a massive 4th gear spin at the Honda Curve and then couldn't restart the car for ages! This was followed up by a much less dramatic spin later in the stage.
Stage 2- Settled down a bit and drove a very clean stage with no problems but felt like I could have pushed a bit harder!
Stage 3 - Decided to go for it again and surprise surprise went off into the deep mud on the Beach Road. We were stuck there for about 6 mins with co driver out and pushing the car along with 2 kind spectators. When we finally got back on the road I had to cruise along whilst co driver got belts etc back on so hate to think how much time we lost in total and almost every other car passed us whilst we were stuck!
Stage 4 - Truthfully I'd lost a bit of interest at this point so drove another clean stage but the time was very mediocre.
Stage 5 - Stopped sulking and decided to try again, I was flying down a straight towards a hairpin and as I went down the box the gear linkage pretty much exploded and bits of it were flying all around the inside of the car. I managed to wedge it into 3rd and come in a lap early which gave us a stage max.
Stage 6 - Gear linkage was cobbled back together by the service boys with cable ties and I went back out for the last stage under strict instructions to be gentle with it and get to the end. With this in mind we cruised around to the finish in 46th place and 5th in class.
Next modification is a Satchshift gear linkage that will be done in time for Tour of Caerwent on March 23rd.
Hoping for a less eventful day next time although it was one of the funniest days rallying I've ever had!
