    pretty spot on, early last season there was naff all between the two of you in a straight line, nearing the end of the season there was even less in it, though i believe it was halfway through the season when he put the spare engine in.

    judging straight line speeds against mine i would of said it was more like 275bhp. but i do know he has a race and a spare engine the spare being lower powered

    Plus it works the tyres harder and gets some heat in them. I've watched fwd touring cars pirouette cruising at 25mph just because of cold rear tyres.

    that would be my guess,reduce understeer, on a control tyres you dont have many options you cant use a harder compund or narrower tyre, they need some way to reduce rear grip and shed leaods of camber would do it, and probably comes in handy when chucking it hard at kerbs
