Good man. Make sure you mention my name / red Mk1 Fiesta, so he knows that I'm spreading the word.

I'll be chopping the top section of the front panel out this afternoon. I wonder if the front wings will spring out when I cut it. I'll soon know.

Chopped the front panel out. Now she has space to breath.

            Re: My Mk1 Fiesta XR2

Just had a phone call from Mike Quaife. He says that the IB5 box isn't going to be ready 'soon', and asked if I wanted to do a test drive on their road going sequential Fiesta in the mean time. This will at least allow me to see how the box feels, and they're prepared to sell me that box, so I can help with the development. Sweeeet. I'll definitely accept their offer if the price is right.

              seems preety reasonable

what are you going to do to put the strength back in just bolt a flat piece across the top?

                  Re: My Mk1 Fiesta XR2

Slam panel is almost complete. I've ordered some quick release fasteners to allow easy removal for access to the front of the engine.

Ordered a set of COPs from www.coordsport.net for a fraction of the price that the dealers charge. Modified the water outlet on the side of the block, to remove the plate that the ignition coil used to mount to. Saves a bit more weight and looks tidier.

The tripod joints arrived from M-Sport last night, and they dont fit on my driveshafts. The Mk6 tripod has a larger ID than the Mk2 item, so my short driveshaft is scrap. Meaning I need to order two new driveshafts. Thems the joys of mating a modern engine/box in to a 26 year old car. There's only so much that you can plug and play with.

Working on the wiring loom at the moment. Starting to gather information on use of sequential injectors, etc. Spreadsheet showing what goes where, is coming together slowly.

Bit of progress the other night. Will try to finish it this evening.

                      Re: My Mk1 Fiesta XR2

There's a possibility that the Focus Mk1 intermediate shaft will fit the back of the Duratec, and that may give the output flange to suit the Fiesta Mk2 tripods. Another possibility anyway.

I've cut the alloy front panel out, and I need to spend an hour or so filing it in to shape. The wiring schematic is taking shape for the DTA ECU. A long list of sensors, and inputs, and fortunately I have the donor loom so most of the connectors can be recycled. Just need to find the COP connectors (I've pm'd Windy for help).

Graham, The COP connectors are the same as Suzuki Hayabusa COP's if it helps, I had a lot of trouble trying to get any from Ford but SBD's wiring loom man noticed they were the same, maybe of some help?

Thanks Matt. Just spoken to Windy, and he's suggested I call SBD. So I'll get in touch to talk to their Loom man.

                            Re: My Mk1 Fiesta XR2

Lake Interconnection Systems can supply the Ford Duratec COP connectors. £16 for the set, all in. http://www.lakeics.com/contact.htm

The Eurospeed oil filter plate has arrived, and I fitted it to the engine last night. I have enough room for -10 90degree forged fittings, to route the hoses to the oil filter and cooler.

Counting down the hours mins and seconds.

Pre-Children, this project would have been finished last year. But with two nippers, I dont get the time in the garage that the car (and I) deserve(s). But I get more thinking time, to mull ideas over, and the forums really help. I'd never have known about the Eurospeed plate if it weren't for Turbosport. It really is an International collaboration now.
