    Re: Ford Taunus TC2 Rallycross

the engine had I Think 10 years ago a fresh build, new rings and bearings. So should be still oke. If i do a full season of Rallycross I maybe do 160km, The engine would have 1500 on it so. Still fresh i asume. Every year a oil change. and filters.

Original? :-p Its a bit modified, But there aren't alot of go faster parts for these engines. expect cams.

      Re: Ford Taunus TC2 Rallycross

Last weekend 22 august on the race at last the diff broke. So i opened it up today and the satelits are broken, so the rest is intact. Pinion and crown wheel are oke. So Will be taking the old satelithousing out and fixing it and hopefully i can fix it before the event in holland starts. Will post pics of the diff.

I had fully bushed the rear axle and yes my problem is solved, it pulls nicely off the start it was awsome, till it broke. had lots of fun with it on saterday

we are going to fully lock the diff. We going to fill the satelite housing with melted pistons. So it forms a solid block so, this should be stronger then just welding the teeth together.

People say the this is a chocolat axle, but what actuallty breaks? Pinion? crownwheel, shafts? of the satelits?

If i get the full locked diff back i will put a pic on. It will be cool.

            Re: Ford Taunus TC2 Rallycross

So I got my new diff back, it is I think stronger then before. We made 2 flat sides on the satelite wheels en made a metal piece and placed it in the satelite housing. And the rod that holded the knackerd satelite wheels in place, we used it again to hold the metal piece in place.

            Pics:

I had a go with it, Its been tested and it didnt break yet, I dont assume it will break. If something now breaks, it will be the half shaft or the whole housing.

              I got some price from fostek 225£ for 4.63 300£ for 5.14 and 5.8 for 440£

Somebody told me on this forum the best gear diff ratio is 11 for racing. So the 5.14 is the closed to 11. Any body have a bit advise? Yes The first Gear wont be any use only for in the carpark. So second Gear is the starting Gear.
in 2011 mid season i will start building a 2300 RS engine, and cams. So power wise the car will have more Torque.

              Thanks

Been long time, i recently build a 2300 bottemend. This or next week i hope to port the head a bit so it can flow some more air. Just waiting for the inlet manifold. (i'll post pics from block) the one i have is to restrictive.

I think its a CVH one, but when i got a new cap and rotor they gave me parts from a rover :-s. so i' wouldnt know

For the rs2300 I'm going to use a pinto distributor from my blown up pinto. I don't know about weights. i thinks it turns in the right direction. clockwise like the pinto ones.

                        Plans for this winter are,

Succesfully build a rs2300 and hope for 200+hp and +185 lb/ft of torque.

A new exhaust is build build because i can't build exhaust. Will add pics when I get the car back.

A brake upgrade and only in front. My disks have a verry nice blue color after the race. So going to fit 260mm vented disk and clamps from the scorpio with red dot pads. And a master cilinder from a 2.8 granny. I hope this works. (i still have the standard brakes on the car)

An other things is installing servo. (steering) because turning the steering wheel is hard and trying to down shift doesnt work that good. (2:1 steering) And its killing my shoulder. I have a rack from a sierra dohc.

And of course some bits and bobs.

                            info on r2300

                            some pics.

A scorpio 2300 block with sump from a 2.0 DOHC from a sierra because then i can remove the balencer shafts. less weight more revy

Using a Rs2000 head with RS2BP300H RALLY cams, (these are the latest cams you can use before getting rid of the hydrailic tappets) and adjustable camshaft sprockets. and a moddified pinto dizzy from H&H.

Took of 1.3mm from the pistons, because cr is to high if you use rs2000 head you get 11.8, what is nice you i had forged pistons and better con rods. But thats a bit to much for the standard pistons. the rs2000 had 10.3. I'm hoping for 10.6 - 10.7. But I don't know much cr they can take so trying to do a safe build.

Thats all for now i think.

going to make it the same way it works on my rs2000 engine. To be fair i wont know how to install it. And would believe a moddified dizzy by H&H would have a better advance curve. the pinto dizzy I got was build for a race engine. so i would asume its better then a sec1 pack. or am I wrong?
