    Re: Peugeot 106 Cup Car

It's the Brawdy stages a week Sunday and the car has been treated to a supersprint manifold, pugsport exhaust and a KMS mappable ECU. It is going to Mosley's on Wednesday for mapping and looking forward to the results!
There is a very strong 1600cc class entry next weekend so will be interesting to see how we do.
    Cheers

Thanks a lot, yes it's Pembrokeshire and spectators are welcome I believe. Venue is close to Newgale beach.

Had a good session at Moselys Rolling Road today, arrived with 136bhp at the flywheel and went home with 158bhp at the flywheel. When I bought the engine it came with a rolling road printout showing 176bhp, it annoys me that people can advertise an engine with pretty much whatever power figure they like!

Never mind, it's going lovely now so roll on Sunday!

john was telling me the power it made on the standard remapped ecu and i thought that it was really high as the standard ecu's aren't that remappable. Still john said the car pulled really well before! God know what it is like now!

It's good now, it has much more power in low and mid rev range. Looking forward to trying it out Sunday!

thats cool then have you got a dyno graph? vince's one and the old one? it is all about the low down power in rallying too especially with them 1600's.

                  Re: Peugeot 106 Cup Car

Well, not quite the result we were after! Car was definitely quicker and we even caught and passed an Impreza in stage 2 and I was starting to think this could be our day but it wasn't to be. First stage we lost power steering after a couple of corners but dragged the car round to a respectable time although we were held up very badly by catching a Micra that I guess didn't see us as he didn't move over for a long time. On stage 2 the power steering failed again on the way to the start line so it was another tough stage but the time was 14 secs quicker than the one before, on this stage passed the Impreza and got held up really badly again but by an MG ZR on this occasion. Fixed power steering for stage 3 and I felt we were going really well but sadly the car just stopped half way around. We were recovered to service and found that the alternator had died. All my fault this one really, put a new ecu in last minute which gave us more power but stopped all dash clocks and gauges from working so had no idea that battery wasn't charging. I've also cracked a brake disc.
We're supposed to be doing the Harry Flatters next in a fortnight but I've decided to skip it and give the car a bit of attention with that money instead. Hoping to get the ECU mapped properly and toying with getting one of these fitted at the same time

I've also ordered longer trumpets for the throttle bodies in a quest for more torque.
New target is the Patriot Stages in Caerwent at the end of September. I'm going to take the positives from this event as although the car broke we took good chunks of time out of a couple of cars that have been beating us all year so I do feel that as we develop the car we are making progress.
                  Thanks for reading

Sounds like you had an eventful day, you was going well when I saw you gutted for you on the retirement.
Pity you're missing the Flatters but best to get the car right in the long run.

Thanks Lyndon, great pics as always.
Yeah, going to spend some time getting it spot on now, have ordered a new DTA S40 ecu and loom and decided to treat myself to a DTA digital dash at the same time so it should all work together a bit better.
                      Cheers

                        Re: Peugeot 106 Cup Car

Tomorrow the car makes the journey to Mosleys Rolling Road for DTA ecu and dash fitment as well as a good mapping!

Sent off entries today for Mewla Rally on Epynt 24th August and Patriot Stages in Caerwent which takes place on 26th September so we have some busy/fun weeks ahead.

Particularly looking forward to my Epynt debut at the Mewla after the disappointment of having to miss the Harry Flatters. I've been spectating on Epynt since I was a child so can't wait to finally compete there.

                        Cheers for reading

                          Re: Peugeot 106 Cup Car

Due to a broken rolling road at Moseleys, the car has been to visit Sandy Brown for mapping. After getting it now has just over 160bhp and pulls from nothing right up to the limiter. Also, the DTA Dash is cool!
It was a pleasure to watch him work his magic and his fantastic reputation is richly deserved.
Couple of little jobs and then the I will make my Epynt debut next Sunday at the Mewla Rally where we are seeded car 100 out of 103. Can't wait!

Thanks, if I finish top 60 that will do! Entry is way too high class for the likes of me!
