Very nice Graham! Nice looking box and makes such a huuge difference to the car.
Whats the plan with your engine? Are you planning to keep it standard for long?

Gave the box the once over tonight, checking everything out, and getting the tape measure out to see how much longer it is than a standard IB5. Its their prototype, so good luck buying another one.





The gearlever has two cables. The main green one is the up/down cable, and the smaller black cable, goes to the collar on the gearlever, and this is lifted to select reverse gear.

The white AP Racing reservoir appears to go to the breather pipe on the top of the box. At least it means I can fill the box easily using it.

It looks like I'm going to have a clearance issue between the front tie bar and the end of the box, so I'll be talking to Carl I'm sure in the near future. I can also shove the engine further over to the drivers side, which will help, so there's room to manouver.

I have both a geartronics and a quaife LED display, and as they are identical, so I'll sell one on ebay.

The Engine is staying standard at the moment, though the box I'm told is capable of handling 300ft/lb, so theres plenty of scope for tuning.

I reckon my biggest challenge will be getting it under the inner wing, as its not the same profile as the IB5 box (close but not quite the same). And the box is longer too, so its going to hit my front tie bar, which is going to mean a conversation with Custom Carl about my options. Routing the tie bar down, below the box, and back up to the TCA would be an option, it depends if it buggers up the geometry or not. Remember this is for the Fiesta ST, and that car is way bigger under the hood than the Mk1/2

So not all plain sailing, but I'm happy to accept the challenge.

Printed new labels for the control box. Done the same for the dash, and will be sticking those on tomorrow.


I used a Dymo Labelpoint 100 and 45021 white on black cartridge.

I also flashed the firmware in the DTA S80 ECU, from v48 to v60, so it has all sorts of extra 'wizzo' features now, like turning off the fuel on overrun, pit lane speed limiter etc.

Its a placebo switch. Not wired. Wifey suggested I make it my 'Stig' switch, for when I need to give it 110%
