Re: Grahamb's Mk1 Fiesta XR2 Duratec HE Hillclimber
Yes, but thats when cranking
I took an oscilloscope picture when the engine was running on Sunday, and all the vertical yellow lines were all the exact same amplitude. But that was with sequential switched off, so i reckon the software capturing the data from the crank and cam was ignoring the cam signal.
Maybe I'll bring the laptop along on Sunday at the CF show and we can have a go at getting it running then 8-) The backfires should clear the field!
Re: Grahamb's Mk1 Fiesta XR2 Duratec HE Hillclimber
I have created a new map with 90deg as the reference angle and batch mode and it runs beautifully.
Washed the car and its ready for the trip to classic Ford in the morning.
Re: Grahamb's Mk1 Fiesta XR2 Duratec HE Hillclimber
Had a great time at the show yesterday, but goddamit, that Jet Car is fecking loud. I almost dropped my camera.
The car is extremly dirty now, but thats they joys of towing it on muddy roads, and thats just inside the Santa Pod venue.
The queues to get out were pretty bad, everyone remained patient, and we were soon on our way.
I ran the engine with the new map, for the Fiesta boys on the Sh*tbox Racing stand, and she's running a lot better now.
I tested the intermittent wiper, sitting in the car, when the torrential rain came down. Worked a treat 8-)
Re: Grahamb's Mk1 Fiesta XR2 Duratec HE Hillclimber
There was feck all else to do whilst waiting for the rain and the traffic to clear 8-)
Just need to let her run long enough to get up to temperature, and make sure none of the hoses blow off under pressure. Wasn't prepared to do that with onlookers.
I'll take a video next time she's running. Busy week this week, and wifey seems to have gotten the hump with all the hours I've spent outside, so I've some rebuilding to do by the sound of things. x-)
Re: Grahamb's Mk1 Fiesta XR2 Duratec HE Hillclimber
I'll probably get it anodised instead. 8-)
Ordering the clutch hose today, stainless overbraided, with dash 4 fitting for the gearbox, and dash 3 banjo for the master cylinder.
Spending a lot of time away from home for the next couple of months, so the only time I'll get to work on the car will be a few hours at the weekend, unless I take the car/trailer down to my B&B of course. I dont think they'd mind 8-)
Re: Grahamb's Mk1 Fiesta XR2 Duratec HE Hillclimber
Car has AFWO at the moment, and the underside has a much flatter profile than before. Partly due to the lack of engine cradle on the Duratec install, and the Tony Law system. http://twitpic.com/1yji3j
I've removed all the wheels so I can bleed the brakes. I may need to order new hoses for the rears, as the position of the HiSpec calipers is different now, and the hoses feel a little too tight for my liking.
Expecting the clutch hose today. Will connect that up when it arrives.
Snag list comprises of:
Bleed brakes
Make gearbox steady bar
Load new ECU Map v1.1
Fit clutch hose
Fit rear brake pads
Fill gearbox with oil
Plumb in extinguisher
Refill extinguisher (Expired Mar 2010)
Fit brake balance adjuster
Fit IB5 output cup on passenger side (replace BC cup as the BC cup doesn't actually fit properly in the oil seal) and purchase 2nd axle-bar from CPS.
