M-Sport hydraulic dash 4 clutch adaptor. Should it have an O-ring?

Quaife stylee gear knob - needs tapping to M12x1.25. Ten minute job.

Two pins down... Just the front two to fit. Going to use black pins on the finished product. Just using up red and blue ones for the time being. 8-)

Replaced the fire extinguisher electrical external switch tonight. Nursing a burn from the soldering iron. Ouch!

O ring on the end groove yes. The groove in the middle is for an R clip to secure into the slave cylinder.

Re: Grahamb's Mk1 Fiesta XR2 Duratec HE Hillclimber

        For £35 I kind of expected a 10pence o-ring to be included...
I'll get on to M-sport this am.

The R clip will need to be sourced too. Anyone got any spares?

Re: Grahamb's Mk1 Fiesta XR2 Duratec HE Hillclimber

M-Sport reckons it doesn't need a o-ring and therefore isn't supplied with one. But it does need a copper washer, and they're sending me one FOC.
I've asked them to double check the o-ring requirement, as surely the groove on the end of the adaptor is crying out for one?

If not, I'll just source a viton o-ring from Brammer and fit one myself.

Re: Grahamb's Mk1 Fiesta XR2 Duratec HE Hillclimber

M-Sport now say that the adaptor does need an o-ring and I need to use the one from the donor part! Doh!
I'll measure it up and get some viton's from Brammer, unless anyone has a spare o-ring they'd like to post me x-)

I presume so. Hydraulic ib5 boxes must all use the same fitting, though the ST does appear to use a different fitting from what I've found so far.

Bonnet fitted. Loading car on to trailer tonight for tomorrows trip.

No hoses 8-( but they're getting a set together for me next week 8-) so I'll have the engine running by next weekend. Big thanks to SFS, did a stirling job measuring her up, and they're even making a custom hose for me (based on the TVR Cerbera top hose) with a takeoff for the header tank.

                      Pics after the trip

The car at SFS on Friday.

                            Fitted the gearknob on Saturday.

Sorry I didn't make it to FITP. Aiming for Classic Ford show on June 6th, failing that, Ford Nationals at Silverstone in August.

Re: Grahamb's Mk1 Fiesta XR2 Duratec HE Hillclimber

Fitted the DL1 last night, and tonight I'll wire it up, and then I'll get the throttle cable hooked up. The CANBUS adaptor is on order from Race Technology, so it'll be interesting to see if it talks successfully to the S80. I've heard of all sorts of issues with DL1's interfacing to S80's. I can then use the Dash3 Lite to display real time info from the ECU. Thats the theory.

No news from SFS yet, but said I should get the box of hoses today/tomorrow.

The battery in the car is now fully charged, and I'll charge the booster battery just in case. Wouldn't want a flat battery when trying to start the car for the first time. And no, I never ever believe those stories of 'it started first time'.

Oh, and I've rxd the Cool It heat mat from DT, so I can set about insulating the tunnel from the exhaust heat.

Re: Grahamb's Mk1 Fiesta XR2 Duratec HE Hillclimber

Data logger is now wired up, and working 8-)

Jacked the car up and its now back on axle stands so I can fit the heat mat to the underside of the exhaust tunnel, and velcro the heat sleeving over the lambda sensor wire where it exits the boss and goes up in to the floor.

Started on the throttle cable, which I'll finish tonight if I can find a 6mm solderless nipple to clamp the end of the cable with.

Tidied up some more of the wiring inside the car. Used another dozen or so cable ties.

Still no hoses from SFS yet. I'll give them a few more days before chasing them up....
