Axle bar arrived today from commercial propshaft services. Looks the dogs wotsits. Photo to follow

Conversion stands at £9.5k today, though I've offset that considerably by selling the zetec, box, jenveys, old ecu, so it's running around the £3.8k marque with just tyres left to go.

Re: Grahamb's Mk1 Fiesta XR2 Duratec HE Hillclimber

Driveshaft from Commercial Propshaft Services. Very happy! This is a 275mm shaft, with Fiesta ST trilobe joint on one end, and 22 splines for the Outer Fiesta CV joint. The overall lenght is greater than 275mm, as the dimension I supplied was for the face-face distance between the output flange on the gearbox and the outer CV joint face.

Lambda sensor fitted. Used a 25.4mm hole punch to cut the hole in the floor, and I've used a grommet to keep it water tight.

Ahh, you went for the LC-1, I just ordered the Emerald recommended Techedge
My LC1 was fine if a bit sensitive, so it will be interesting to see if the Techedge is any better.

I'm surprising even myself how much patience I have... must be an age thing.

Left to do prior to running:
              Connect fuel lines
              Wire in TPS
              Calibrate Lambda
Connect radiator and fill with coolant.

              Prior to driving:
              Plumb in clutch
              Fit bonnet
              Adjust gear linkage
Fit rear pads and bleed brakes.

              Prior to tuning:
Adjust front suspension for track, camber and caster

              Prior to 1st event:
              New extinguisher
              New helmet
              New tyres

Re: Grahamb's Mk1 Fiesta XR2 Duratec HE Hillclimber

                  Scotch and Dry tonight 8-)

TPS is now wired in and calibrated for open and closed throttle.
Lambda sensor appears to work ok. ECU can see it's analogue signal, and I'm just left with calibrating it.
So 2 more things crossed off. 8D

Its funny how you mention the age and patience thing, but one thing doing my resto has done, is improve my patience. I have got really good at not getting stressed about delays and problems. Is it age or catching the retro zeitgeist

It is true, I will have waited nearly 3 years to finish mine, ok most of that is because I lost a bit of interest for a while for a number of reasons, but I've really got the wind in my sails now!

Can't wait to see/hear your car Graham, it's going to be awesome!

Re: Grahamb's Mk1 Fiesta XR2 Duratec HE Hillclimber

Looking fwd to learning how to pedal it all over again. Less nose weight and more power, better suspension, and traction control should mean I can keep my foot in where i'd have to lift off before.

Spoken to Burtons about the clutch slave dilemma, and they said they knew of nothing off-the-shelf, so I'm finishing work early to go to the ford dealers to see what the std offering is, and how I can connect it to my raldes pedal box.

Is it a similar push in connector to this you require?

Its an aluminium fitting with an o ring seal secured with an R clip through the slave cylinder connection. I broke mine at some point, but when I went up to frauds to get a new one I had to buy the whole Fiesta clutch pipe assy to get the fitting on the end! IIRC its an M10x1 female thread in the end of it where I connected up my goodridge braided hose from the girling clutch master cylinder in my pedal box.

I need the part number for that Part Jason.

I went to Ford this morning, and they brought up the Fiesta ST part as F1474321 but it didn't look like yours in the picture.
Which series of Fiesta was that from? I can get Coordsport to source the bits at trade if I can get the partno's.

                              Edit: Is this the same?

Doesn't look like it to me Graham, the fittings are different.
