Dave all looking good but dont replace the proper sperical bushes with poly ones, thats a real bad downgrade.

Not sure why as from what i can see the arms can only move in one plane, the bushes are dead parallel and there should be no stiction, but I have heard that said before on other forums so you are probably right.
The spherical bushes on the outer arms have some lateral play though on my car so I think that what I might try for now is to just replace the outers with the polyrace bushes that I have and leave the inners as origional sphericals if they are in good shape. This should be a good compromise and if there is any miss alignment in the wishbone pickups then the inner sphericals should allow for it.

i know that on my car the big disc and caliper set up which is very similar except home brewed saved weight over the std setup, i dont see why daves should be any different, the disc is big but its alloy bell weighs next to nothing

Thats what I was thinking. If he would have had solid rotors he could save a lot of weight by going with the alloy bells.
I increased the size of ny brakes drastically but managed to keep the wieght the same by goung with the bell type rotors. No point in making the brakes smaller to save weight.

how did you manage to get it out then mate?have you got a pic of the old bush and maybe ill be able to think of a way you can aproach it with out the agro

This is the kiddy. It is self aligning and there is no more rubber to come out to ease removal. On this one I just opened the centre out a touch to get a hacksaw blade through and then slowly cut to the outside edge. With a mm less metal in there the whole lot tapped out with a big hammer and a 30mm socket after a few big swings.

Yeah I guess so as it wasn't an issue, just didn't know what gear I was in!

Most carbon bodied cars you can see the weave in the right light. Rod Birleys doors are a good example. My car hasn't had too much paint so thats not a worry, I did manage to remove one of the wishbone bushes today which is like a solid steel void bush with no rubber apart from the seals. The poly bush is a lot lighter and there are 4 of them! Another few grams saved

Yeah, can't think why i don't fit in it. Besides I can get in Andys car still, its just that my shoulders touch the roof. I guess I'll have to shave a bit off my hips before I drive it in anger this year

that is light for youre height i warm up bench pressing with that anount of weight!

not being rude to you dave having meet you im not saying youre overweight atall this is just a point in general and is pretty irelevant i suppose as im assuming the cars are weighed minus driver but it makes me laugh when people say their buying carbon fibre bits for their car to save a kg when really just going for a jog once a week and watching what they eat would save the weight and make them a better driver all round through being in better health?

Totally agree with you, but in my case the only carbon bits on the car are the seat, because it was cheap, and the front bumper, because it is very strong and gets some abuse.

I could lose about 5 kg myself and will when I get round to it, but rest assured I walk about 20 miles a day in work and am around 83kg wet, not too bad as I'm about 6'2"

i have 6 pot billet Hi spec calipers with 335x32mm discs. Quite big I know but as I say I think they are worth it
