Breather pipes on, throttle cable now converted to race type as std one wouldnt fit and was a bit short, plugs fitted and heat mat bought to start shielding everything on the hot side.
New 3 bar map sensor fitted and plugged in too

Almost everything on the list completed, just one more bit of heat shielding and the gearbox and starter to fit now.
Should have a bit more progress this week

Cheers, going up to Track and road as Ive used Steve Greenald for years and its only up the road.

Got exhaust manifold lambda boss welded thanks to Frank Frostick, fitted some titanium heat wrap, thanks to the Mrs! and got the downpipe and system all fully fitted. List is getting smaller!

Gearbox in, prop in, new starter almost made and template for heatshield made.
Might modify heatshield as I go but for now at least I have somewhere to start. Have a sheet of nimbus heat shield to make it with which is easy to form and very light.
Pics to follow..

Will put all fluids in over the next few days and check for leaks so that once starter is done we can see if she fires up i guess atf for the T5 but what oil do people use in their race YBs??

Good to hear your nearly ready to start up the engine Dave , with regard to gearbox oil use 75/90 in mine as recommend by Joe and Bara Motorsport

I've got a Tremec TKO and DexronIII is what they recommend; I'm going for Valvoline Dexron AZ14820 (about £5.75/L)
I must confess I don't know if the T5 is the same..

Cheers, what engine oil do people run in their YBs, I was guessing a race spec 10/50 but that's just a guess..

I use Mobil 1 10 w 60 Motorsport oil in mine Dave as reccomend by Joe
