Hopefully an alloy blocked 2.0 but may start off by using my current block, crank and rods so will still be 1800cc.

Re: Pushrod kings MK1 Escort race car

Well after nearly 7 months away from racing I decided to dust off the ole girl and enter QMN at the masters historic festival which was last weekend,I raced the car as it came off of the track in November, same engine and tyres etc.Qualifying was at 9am so we were the first out on the still wet circuit so I took it easy for the first few laps getting used to driving the car again and driving one handed I managed to qualify 10th of 37 cars and 1st in class just ahead of the very quick no97 Megane and more importantly first of the 4 mk1 Escorts that were racing on the day, this put me on the outside of the grid which isn't ideal when there are much faster/more powerful cars ahead on the grid.

Great qualifying position position for the first race among some big cars. why the one handed driving?

Just read through this thread, awesome car man!
Loving the fact you're sticking with pushrod power!

Built a race/road crossflow for my mk1 fiesta, 147bhp, so it goes alright.
What's the spec of this beast?

Well, having sold my newly built car transporter I now have the budget to do a full season this year, first meeting is at Brands Hatch 12th/13th April, hopefully the semi restoration of the shell and new engine build will be finished by then
